Zinovy ​​Kozytsky: "Energy Club is a synergy of motivation and action!"

In 2026, Energy Club – the largest professional community in the energy sector of Ukraine – celebrates its 10th anniversary. On the occasion of the anniversary, the Club’s member companies share their own experience of participating in the community, talk about its practical value, impact on business and industry development, as well as the vision of the future of the Ukrainian energy sector.

For six years, “ECO-OPTIMA” – the largest company in Western Ukraine in the field of renewable energy, which was the first among private companies to receive a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the construction of a wind farm in the region, has been a member of the Energy Club. Founded in 2004, the company has implemented dozens of projects in solar, wind, hydro and bioenergy, and also continues to develop new investment areas.

The founder of the ECO-OPTIMA Group, Zinovy ​​Kozytsky, spoke in an interview about the purpose of joining the Energy Club, the practical benefits of participating in the professional community, which formats of the Club he considers the most valuable, and also identified the role of the energy community in the development of the energy market of Ukraine.

– ECO-OPTIMA LLC has joined the Energy Club since 2020. Carrying out activities in the field of renewable energy – solar, wind projects and electricity storage, we understood that it was necessary to be present in a professional environment, – says Zinovy ​​Kozytsky. – In the civilized world, professional communities are a rational practical tool for advocating interests and managing risks in a rapidly transforming market. Therefore, the decision to join the Energy Club was a logical step for a company that seeks to develop in step with the industry.

– Mr. Zinovy, what practical value does participation in the Energy Club bring to your company?

– The Energy Club provides an opportunity to develop professional connections, receive high-quality professional expertise and a platform for presenting your own projects. We systematically participate in the Club’s events, in particular outside Ukraine. This gives us the opportunity to hear the position of market participants on specific issues: regulatory changes, regulatory policy, lending for energy projects, ESG. It is important for us to have a platform where we can share practical experience in implementing RES projects and the operation of the electricity market, as well as hear how partners overcome similar challenges.

– Which Energy Club formats are most useful to you: forums, closed meetings, online discussions, working groups, interviews, analytics? Why them?

– We are impressed by Energy Club’s policy of flexibility regarding event formats. Each of them is useful in its own way: forums provide an opportunity for new contacts, working groups – for substantive discussion of narrow issues, analytical materials help to understand the logic of the functioning of the market or individual processes. One of the interesting and at the same time necessary formats is training.

– How, in your opinion, has the role of Energy Club changed for the energy market of Ukraine over the years?

– During its activity, the Club has transformed into an open platform where a common market position is formed. This is especially noticeable in areas related to our activities – the development of the market for guarantees of origin, the issue of integration of storage devices and active consumers.

– What would you like Energy Club to do in the coming years?

– To remain a unique space for generating and implementing ambitious professional ideas. To scale up activities and capitalize on the trust of the public and international partners in ensuring the energy sustainability of the state, promoting the values ​​of sustainable development.

– Do you have an Energy Club event, discussion or initiative that was especially memorable to your team?

– Discussions on practical aspects of the work of active consumers and imbalances – topics that are in the focus of “ECO-OPTIMA” – were memorable. This is how we managed to hear specific practical answers.
