Ten years ago, Energy Club was created as a platform for professional dialogue, and today it is one of the key business communities in the energy industry. On the occasion of the anniversary, the Club is conducting a series of interviews with its members to hear their assessment of the effectiveness of Energy Club’s work, its contribution to the consolidation of the energy community and its role in the future development of the Ukrainian energy sector.
LTD “Kramatorskteploenergo” is the largest heat supply organization in the city of Kramatorsk. The enterprise ensures the functioning of the Kramatorsk CHP, providing heating for several tens of thousands of residents, including children, the elderly and wounded military personnel in hospitals. With an installed capacity of 150 MW, the company supplies heat to apartment buildings, kindergartens, schools and hospitals, social institutions, budget and commercial institutions. In addition to producing and transporting thermal energy, Kramatorskteploenergo plays a critical role in the region’s energy system, providing electricity to over 206,000 people.
The company operates the Kramatorsk Thermal Power Plant (Kramatorsk CHP). The company, with almost 90 years of history, currently provides services for the production and transportation of thermal energy and electricity generation, despite being located just a few kilometers from the front line and constantly under enemy fire.
Joining the Energy Club in 2026 is a strategic step for the company to strengthen industry communications and ensure the energy sustainability of the front-line region.
Roman Polishchuk, CEO of Kramatorskteploenergo LLC, is a former military man. After being wounded at the front, he had to change his line of work. It was not easy to accept. But war has many fronts, and each of them is important. “Energy today is also advanced. Light in homes, warmth in hospitals, stability for settlements – this is what keeps the country going no less than weapons. And now my service is here,” says Roman Polishchuk.
In an interview with the Energy Club media department, the CEO of Kramatorskteploenergo LLC told why the company, which operates under constant enemy shelling, joined the Energy Club business community, what practical value it receives from professional dialogue with market participants, what formats of the Club’s work are most useful for the company, how the role of the Energy Club has changed over the past decade, and how he sees the future of the Ukrainian energy sector after the victory.
– We joined the Energy Club because it was important for us to become part of a professional community where strategic issues of energy development and practical challenges that enterprises face every day are discussed, – noted Roman Polishchuk. – For a company operating in wartime, the exchange of experience, the opportunity to hear the position of colleagues, government agencies, international partners and together to find solutions for the industry is especially valuable.
– Mr. Roman, what practical value does participation in the Energy Club provide for your company?
– The greatest value is professional dialogue. The Energy Club unites companies from different segments of the energy industry, so we have the opportunity to promptly receive up-to-date information about market changes, legislative initiatives, international experience and visions for the development of the industry.
For an enterprise operating 8 kilometers from the front line, it is important not to be alone with its problems. The club provides an opportunity to be heard, find partners, participate in the formation of a common market position and maintain professional contacts in the most difficult times.
– Which Energy Club formats are most useful for you and why?
– The most useful for us are closed professional meetings, working discussions and analytical materials. It is in the format of an open professional conversation that one can honestly discuss issues that are not always brought to the public space: the security of energy infrastructure, the heating season, regulatory changes, the restoration of damaged facilities. Such meetings help to obtain information and develop practical solutions.
– How, in your opinion, has the role of Energy Club changed for the energy market of Ukraine over these 10 years?
– Over the past ten years, the role of Energy Club has grown significantly. If earlier it was a platform for professional communication, today it has become a platform that helps consolidate the position of the energy community in the face of unprecedented challenges.
The full-scale war showed how important it is to have a place where the state, business and the expert community can quickly exchange information, coordinate actions and work together on the sustainability of the Ukrainian energy sector.
– What do you wish for Energy Club for the next 10 years?
– I want to remain an independent professional platformmine, which unites people around the development of Ukrainian energy.
I would like the Club to become one of the centers of discussion of large-scale modernization of the industry, integration into the European energy space, introduction of new technologies and reconstruction of the energy infrastructure of Ukraine after the victory.
– Energy Club for your company – what is it?
– A platform thanks to which we strengthen each other and scale up effective solutions!
The history of Kramatorskteploenergo LLC is a reminder that today Ukrainian energy is also holding its own front. The company’s accession to the Energy Club strengthens the business community with the experience of an enterprise that proves every day: the sustainability of the energy system begins with people who, despite the war, continue to provide the country with light, warmth and faith in the future.
