InterConti Trading s.r.o., a member of the Energy Club and the exclusive representative of CORNEX in Ukraine, has signed an agreement for the purchase and implementation of 2 GWh of containerized energy storage systems for the Ukrainian market.
This is one of the largest announced packages of energy storage systems for Ukraine. The scale of 2 GWh indicates the transition of the UZE market from individual pilot projects to the stage of industrial development.
Energy storage systems are one of the key tools for increasing the flexibility and stability of the power system. They are necessary not only for balancing, but also for the integration of new solar and wind power plants, participation in the ancillary services market, reducing the load on the grid and increasing the reliability of energy supply.
InterConti Trading s.r.o. plans to implement projects on a turnkey basis – from feasibility analysis, selection of the optimal configuration and engineering to the implementation of control systems, in particular SCADA and EMS, commissioning and subsequent service support.
The scale of the announced agreement is of particular importance. 2 GWh of energy storage systems is no longer a test level, but a signal about the formation of a full-fledged market for industrial storage in Ukraine.
If the announced plans are implemented, such projects can significantly accelerate the implementation of BESS in Ukraine, increase investor interest in this segment and create additional opportunities for the development of new generation, distributed energy solutions and modern power system architecture.
