Oleksandr Suslov: “Energy Club is support, experience and development”

In 2026, Energy Club celebrates 10 years of activity. To mark the anniversary, the Club continues a series of interviews with member companies, who share their own experience of participating in the professional community, talk about its practical value, and recall the initiatives that have been most useful to them.

Among such companies is VOLTEN GROUP, one of the leading Ukrainian manufacturers of high-voltage equipment, whose products are used at energy facilities in Ukraine and abroad.

Founder and CEO of LLC “NVP “Volten” Oleksandr Suslov told why the company joined the Energy Club, what opportunities membership in the Club opens up, why offline meetings and professional networking are of the greatest value for business, how the role of Energy Club in the Ukrainian energy sector has changed over the past ten years, and how he sees its development in the next decade.

– When did your company join the Energy Club and what was the decisive argument in favor of membership?

– LLC “NVP “Volten” joined the Energy Club in 2019. The motivation was the desire to be members of a powerful community of energy sector professionals.

– What are the benefits and practical opportunities does your company receive through participation in the Energy Club? What is the most valuable: professional communication, access to current information, exchange of experience, new business contacts, increasing the company’s visibility or participation in the formation of a common position in the energy market?

– All areas are relevant, but the most valuable is the exchange of experience. This is definitely professional communication, participation in discussions, new contacts, acquaintances and networking. The exhibitions and presentations organized by the Energy Club are very relevant and effective, thanks to which we got acquainted with the majority of Ukrainian regional energy companies, engineers, technical and commercial specialists, presented our products and services, and later received feedback on our products. Such events provide an opportunity to maintain relationships with partners, customers and colleagues.

– What formats of Energy Club work do you consider the most effective for your company: forums, closed meetings, online discussions, working groups, interviews, analytics or other events? Why are they the most useful?

– Any offline meetings. This is sorely lacking at the moment. Live communication with representatives of energy companies – producers and suppliers of electricity – is important in order to discuss problematic issues, prepare appeals to the Ministry of Energy and other state bodies to defend the interests of small and medium-sized players in the energy market. Energy Club is able to organize such events to discuss the development strategy of the Ukrainian energy market and its future needs. The club regularly holds large thematic meetings, and they are very productive for each Energy Club member.

– How do you assess the contribution of Energy Club to the development of the Ukrainian energy sector over the ten years of its activity? How, in your opinion, has the role of the Club changed during this time?

– 10 years ago, Energy Club did not exist at all, but now it is an influential community that is listened to by state structures, which has become a catalyst for change. The community has brought together leading Ukrainian and foreign energy companies, experienced domestic and international experts to exchange experience, opinions and find new progressive solutions.

– What achievements and new opportunities would you like Energy Club to achieve in the next decade?

– Scaling and expanding the boundaries of influence: becoming a global association and going beyond Ukraine. And within the country – to develop energy, hold as many live events as possible, act as ambassadors of change, advocates for the Club’s member companies, develop networking, interaction of participants and jointly implement new major projects.

– Was there an event or discussion among the Energy Club initiatives that made the greatest impression on you or your team? Why was it?

– The most memorable was the specialized exhibition “Electric Networks of Ukraine 2024”, which was held on October 24, 2024 in Kyiv. The event brought together leading industry companies and experts to discuss the latest technologies that will become the basis of the country’s future electrical networks. The participants of the exhibition, among whom were representatives of Energy Club member companies, presented their solutions for automation, monitoring and security of power grids. It was a unique opportunity for industry professionals to get acquainted with advanced technologies, establish business contacts and find solutions to improve the efficiency of their companies.

– How would you finish the sentence: “Energy Club for our company is…”?

– Energy Club for our company is support, experience and development.
