25.06.2026

Munich, Germany, June 23, 2026

At Intersolar Europe 2026, Huawei held the event “Huawei FusionSolar 2026 Strategy and New Product Launch.” The company introduced its vision for renewable energy development, the new LUTERRA energy storage platform, the LUTERRA S2 home solution, and an updated service strategy for solar power plants.

FusionSolar 2026: Three Strategic Development Directions

Huawei FusionSolar has identified three key directions that will shape the energy sector of the future:

  • Grid-Forming technologies;
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI);
  • Integration of solar generation (PV) with energy storage systems (ESS).

These technologies will help ensure the stability of energy systems in the face of the rapid growth of the share of renewable energy sources.

LUTERRA: A NEW STAGE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS

One of the main news of the event was the rebranding of Huawei’s ESS solutions: the LUNA brand is transformed into LUTERRA. President of the Smart PV & ESS product line Huawei Digital Power, Stephen Zhou, emphasized that energy storage systems must move from the role of passive storage to active elements of grid support.

LUTERRA’s Five Technological Innovations

LUTERRA’s new Smart String Grid-Forming platform has five key technological advantages:

  • Industry-first 1000 VAC Smart String architecture;
  • End-to-end bus architecture for easy integration;
  • Plant-level Grid-Forming technology;
  • Intelligent distributed cooling system;
  • Digital twin and AI tools to improve efficiency and profitability.

The maximum solution configuration is 12.5 MW / 50 MWh.

Four key customer benefits

Optimal investment

  • reduction of ESS project implementation times by approximately 30%;
  • reduction of supporting infrastructure costs by more than 20%.

Higher profitability

  • increased energy throughput of the system throughout the life cycle;
  • improved economic performance of the project.

Grid shaping

  • inertial response;
  • primary frequency control;
  • Black Start function;
  • operation in grid and stand-alone modes.

C2G comprehensive security

  • Protection at all levels, from the battery cell to the grid.
  • Security as a new industry standard

Huawei has introduced the r-map quantitative risk assessment system, which classifies potential threats based on the level of risk.

With its Cell-to-Grid (C2G) approach, Huawei’s energy storage systems provide a level of security where the probability of a critical incident is less than one in a million. At the same time, the company notes that the European energy sector is already adapting to the new conditions through increased investment in grid infrastructure, the implementation of Grid-Forming ESS, updated grid codes, and the development of ancillary services markets.

LUTERRA S2: THE NEXT GENERATION OF HOME ENERGY

The company also announced the LUTERRA S2 home system.

According to Sun Power, President of Huawei Digital Power Home Solutions, Huawei solutions have already provided electricity to more than 4.3 million households worldwide. The new system combines: convenient user experience; intelligent energy management; maximum security.

Key Features of LUTERRA S2:

  • SiC-based architecture;
  • Fanless natural cooling;
  • Fully wireless connectivity;
  • AI Scheduling 2.0 system for optimizing energy consumption;
  • Integration with EV chargers and other elements of the home energy system.

The safety of Huawei technologies remains an absolute priority: the home system is equipped with early overheating detection technology and the industry’s first directional smoke exhaust channel, which provide additional user protection and minimize risks in case of emergencies.

At the end of the event, Huawei introduced an updated service model that covers the entire 20-year life cycle of the solar power plant. The strategy is based on the company’s 13 years of global experience and provides comprehensive support to customers at all stages – from planning and construction to operation, using Huawei AI Assistant to monitor and diagnose the operation of theand the EasyBuy platform to simplify procurement and service processes.

Huawei emphasizes that the future of energy depends not only on the volume of renewable energy generation, but also on the ability of power systems to be intelligent, flexible and secure. This is what the FusionSolar 2026 strategy is aimed at – to accelerate the global transition to a new energy model in which every ray of the sun is used as efficiently as possible.
