The State Savings Bank has installed energy storage systems in 650 of its approximately 1,200 branches to ensure its own energy independence, reports Energoreforma.
This was announced by the deputy chairman of the bank’s board, responsible for corporate business, Yuriy Katsion.
“We have already installed energy storage systems in 650 branches to ensure uninterrupted operation in the event of a power outage. Where conditions allow, we are also thinking about installing solar panels,” he said in a conversation with journalists in Kyiv on November 28.
According to him, by the end of the first quarter of 2025, approximately 150 more branches will have such systems.
“This is not about saving electricity, although it will also be, given that the bank, when concluding electricity supply contracts, focuses on charging storage devices when the price of the resource is cheaper on the market. It is primarily about ensuring energy independence in the event of a power outage and the ability to provide services to clients regardless of its availability in the network,” explained Kation.
