Energy Club held a forum "From project to megawatt: engineering of new energy in Ukraine"

On June 18, 2026, the Energy Club forum “From project to megawatt: engineering of new energy of Ukraine” was held in Kyiv – a professional platform for technical specialists dedicated to networks, distributed generation, RES, BESS, cogeneration and practical solutions for energy sustainability.

The event was attended by representatives of energy companies, engineers, designers, technology companies, experts and market participants working on the launch, connection, modernization and operation of new energy facilities.

The forum partners were Huawei Ukraine and Phoenix Contact Ukraine.

Before the start of the forum, Energy Club held a draw for the traditional charity football tournament among energy companies ENERGY CUP 2026. This year, the tournament will be aimed at supporting the K-2 regiment. Energy market companies will traditionally participate.

The forum was moderated by Artem Martyniuk, Vice President of Energy Club, Acting General Director of JSC “Ukrainian Distribution Networks” in 2023–2025, and Ivan Hryhoruk, Vice President of Energy Club.

The discussion was attended by:

• 400;”>Yuriy Bondarenko, General Director of NTK ENPASELEKTRO LLC, Chairman of the Board of NGO NTSEU, Chairman of the Technical Committee of UNC CIGRE, First Vice-President of the Association “Hydropower of Ukraine”, Honored Power Engineer of Ukraine.

During the forum, practical issues of launching new energy projects were discussed: connection to networks, technical conditions, design, equipment selection, operation of BESS, solar power plants, wind power plants, cogeneration and local power plants.

The participants paid special attention to typical errors at the design stage, assessment of the real technical capabilities of networks, service and operational models for new facilities, as well as the combination of technical solutions with the market model.

Participants noted that not only equipment and financing are important for the development of new energy, but also high-quality engineering. It is on technical solutions, design, connection and subsequent operation that how quickly energy projects turn into real objects depends.

According to the results of the discussion, the participants emphasized the need for closer interaction between customers, designers, engineers, equipment manufacturers, network operators, investors and the regulatory environment.
