Kateryna Rusina: "For Elaks Energy Club, it is a community of people with whom Ukraine is building the future energy sector"

Over the past ten years, Energy Club has become a place where partnerships are born, strategic decisions are discussed, and a vision of the future of the Ukrainian energy sector is formed. The community is constantly growing.

Among the companies that joined the professional community this year is PJSC “ELAKS”, a Ukrainian engineering company with over 30 years of experience implementing complex projects in the field of energy supply, automation, and modernization of industrial and energy infrastructure. Today, the company is actively developing the areas of distributed generation, energy storage systems (BESS), MicroGrid, and cogeneration solutions, and is also participating in the restoration of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

The Administrative Director of PrJSC “ELAKS” Kateryna Rusina told why the company joined the Energy Club, what practical value it receives from membership, how she assesses the role of the Club in the development of the Ukrainian energy market and why she considers it a community of people who together build the future energy sector of Ukraine.

– ELAKS has been a member of the Energy Club for almost a year. Joining the business community was a logical step in our development. For more than three decades, we have been working in industrial automation, and in recent years we have been actively developing the direction of energy solutions – energy storage systems (BESS), MicroGrid and cogeneration units.

At some point, professional communication with key players in the energy market ceased to be simply desirable – it became necessary. Energy Club turned out to be exactly the environment where an engineering company can conduct a meaningful dialogue with those who shape the market – not through press releases, but directly, – emphasized the administrative director of PrJSC “ELAKS”.

– Ms. Kateryno, what practical value does participation in the Energy Club provide for your company?

– For ELAKS, the value of participation in the Energy Club is manifested at several levels at once.

The first is a professional environment that provides an opportunity to better understand market development trends, future regulatory changes, and exchange views with representatives of energy companies, system operators and industrial enterprises.

The second is team development. Our employees underwent marketing training within the Club, participated in industry discussions, and engineers – in specialized conferences. For us, this is real professional development, not certificates “for a check.”

The third is the opportunity to strengthen ELAKS’s expert reputation in the areas of distributed generation, energy storage systems and MicroGrid. This builds trust in the company long before the start of specific projects or tenders.

– Which formats of Energy Club’s activities are most useful for you and why?

– All formats are useful, but each performs its own function, and this is their strength. Forums provide an opportunity to see how the industry as a whole perceives the same challenges that we work to overcome every day. Closed meetings and working groups are an environment where participants speak in essence, without a PR filter, with real numbers and real problems. Online discussions are convenient as a “fast pulse” – when you need to understand the market’s reaction to an event in a short time. Training programs and specialized conferences are of particular value for the development of our team. We actively use all of these formats, because each of them solves its own task and complements the others.

– In your opinion, how has the role of Energy Club changed for the energy market of Ukraine over the past 10 years?

– The role of Energy Club has evolved along with the market. After 2022, the focus has naturally shifted: from general discussions about European integration to specific issues of energy system sustainability, distributed generation, energy storage systems, operation in conditions of destruction and capacity shortages. Energy Club has become one of the few platforms where these issues are discussed not in a crisis mode of “surviving the winter”, but strategically – with an eye on the decades ahead.

– What would you like Energy Club to wish for in the next 10 years?

– Maintaining intellectual independence is what makes Energy Club truly valuable, and it is the most difficult thing to maintain over time. We also wish for closer integration with European platforms of a similar level, because the Ukrainian energy market is already a de facto part of the European one, and professional dialogue should be cross-border.

– What event, discussion or initiative of the Energy Club was especially memorable for your team?

– The forum “Energy Decentralization 2026: Generation, Storage and Financing”, which took place on May 26, 2026 in Kyiv. For our team, it became one of the most valuable events of the year, because almost every discussion was directly related to the areas that ELAKS works on every day: Smart Grid and MicroGrid solutions, integration of generation, energy storage systems and controlled loads, industrial BESS, design of hybrid systems and cogeneration plants.

According to the results of the forum, wemade new professional acquaintances, valuable ideas and were once again convinced that discussions on the Energy Club platform are taking place at the same pace as the development of modern engineering solutions.

Ten years ago, Energy Club united professionals around the idea of ​​open dialogue. Today, this idea has turned into a powerful business community that not only responds to the challenges of the time, but also helps determine the direction of development of the energy industry.

Ahead are new technologies, large-scale modernization, integration into the European energy space and the reconstruction of the country. And this means that the role of the professional community, where ideas are born, trust is strengthened and partnerships are created, will only grow.
