Iryna Beliaieva: “At Energy Club, dialogue among business, government and experts turns into practical solutions for the development of the energy sector”

03 Aug 2026

Ten years of Energy Club represent a significant period of professional dialogue, partnership-building and a joint search for solutions that help develop Ukraine’s energy sector even in the most difficult times. To mark the anniversary, member companies of the Club are sharing their experience of cooperation and talking about the role Energy Club plays in the development of their business.

Juscutum Law Firm is a new-generation law firm that has become a recognized market leader in Ukraine, combining practices in law, security, investment, IT, AI and accounting support.

Juscutum is actively developing its expertise in the energy sector: it supports projects in energy trading, generation, public procurement, and environmental and land disputes. The company cooperates with market regulators, supports innovative energy initiatives and provides comprehensive legal protection for industry participants.

Managing Partner and CEO of Juscutum Iryna Beliaieva spoke about why the law firm became part of Energy Club, what practical value it gains from participating in the professional community, and how she sees the Club’s future.

– Ms. Beliaieva, why did your company decide to join Energy Club?

– Juscutum has been a member of Energy Club since July 2025, so for almost a year now. The decision to join the Club was entirely deliberate. Juscutum is actively developing its legal support and protection practice for companies operating in the energy sector. Our clients include electricity market participants, subsoil users, renewable energy producers and other industry representatives.

A separate factor was Juscutum’s participation in the working group on developing and implementing hydrogen reform in Ukraine, established within the framework of the Ukrainian Energy Initiative of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine. To pursue this work, we needed ongoing interaction with a professional energy community that understands the real needs of the market.

– What practical value does participation in Energy Club bring to Juscutum?

– The practical value lies in multi-vector interaction with energy companies, experts and government representatives. This cooperation helps us understand our clients’ problems more deeply and see legal issues not only through the text of regulations but also through the real needs of business.

For Juscutum, professional communication, access to up-to-date industry information, participation in expert discussions, new contacts and the opportunity to present our own expertise are all important. Equally valuable is taking part in shaping a common market position on issues that require regulatory or legislative change.

– Which formats of Energy Club’s activities are most useful for you, and why?

– All of Energy Club’s formats are important, since they serve different purposes. Forums and online discussions help shape the agenda. Closed-door meetings allow for frank discussion of practical problems. Working groups turn professional positions into concrete proposals. Interviews and analytical materials systematize knowledge and make it accessible to a wider circle of market participants.

Juscutum is also preparing its own initiatives for the professional communities in which the company is represented. In the near future, we plan to prepare a digest of the energy market’s key legal problems and a roadmap of possible solutions. This will help systematize the industry’s typical legal challenges and propose practical approaches to overcoming them.

– In your view, how has Energy Club’s role for Ukraine’s energy market changed over the decade?

– Over ten years, Energy Club has grown into the largest professional community in Ukraine’s energy market. Its platforms bring together business, the public sector, experts and lawyers who can discuss industry problems directly and work together on solutions.

For us, Energy Club is one of the most active and effective platforms for interaction in Ukraine’s energy sector. Today the Club not only ensures professional communication but also helps shape the industry’s position and represent it in dialogue with the state.

– Is there an Energy Club event, discussion or initiative that has particularly stayed with your team?

– Among recent initiatives, we would particularly highlight the special project and closing forum “Corporate Governance in Energy: From Formal Rules to Real Accountability,” held on 16 July 2026. The project brought together representatives of business, government, and the legal and expert communities around issues that directly affect the resilience of energy companies and investor confidence.

Overall, Energy Club’s events stand out for their professional organization and high-quality moderation. The Club’s team responds quickly to the problems of its participants and to the challenges facing the country’s energy sector.

– What are your wishes for the Club for the next 10 years?

– We wish Energy Club continued growth of its professional community and greater influence on the development of the industry in the interests of business, the state and society.

The Club has every prerequisite to become a full-fledged think tank for Ukraine’s energy sector — to shape new approaches, prepare quality analysis and propose solutions for public policy and business. We wish it to remain a trendsetter, an advocate for the industry’s interests, and an icebreaker for new and genuinely needed change.

– In one sentence: for your company, Energy Club is…

– For Juscutum, Energy Club is a professional community in which dialogue among business, government and experts turns into practical solutions for the development of Ukraine’s energy sector.

The success of the energy sector today is defined not only by technology or investment but also by the quality of professional dialogue. That is why, over ten years, Energy Club has become far more than just a business community. It is a space where trust is built, partnerships are born, the toughest challenges are discussed, and solutions are found that help the market develop even in the most testing times.

Being part of the Club makes it possible to be exactly where legal expertise meets the practice of the energy business, and where professional discussions turn into real change. The interaction of business, government and the expert community creates a solid foundation for the modernization of Ukraine’s energy sector, its European integration and sustainable development.

Ahead lie new challenges and new opportunities. And if Energy Club’s first decade became the story of the rise of the most powerful professional community in the energy market, the next one has every chance of becoming a time of solutions that will shape the future of Ukraine’s energy sector.
