In recent years, the Ukrainian energy market has been undergoing what is perhaps the most difficult test of its resilience in its history. The war, market crises, and the need for profound transformation demand not only rapid responses but also the building of strong alliances. I have always been convinced that the strength of any ecosystem lies in its diversity. This past week has served as a vivid confirmation of this thesis for me, as three new, exceptionally powerful companies joined the Energy Club.
I am pleased to officially welcome Epicentr K LLC, JUSCUTUM Law Firm, and BURSHTYN ENERGOMASH LLC to the Club. At first glance, these are completely different players. However, their simultaneous entry symbolizes an important trend: solving the industry’s systemic problems requires a dialogue among all its participants, from the largest consumers to independent suppliers and leading legal experts.
The arrival of Epicentr K is more than just the addition of a new member. It is evidence that big business, one of the pillars of the Ukrainian economy, can no longer remain a passive consumer of energy. It is becoming an active player, investing in its own energy efficiency, considering generation projects, and being deeply interested in stable and predictable market rules. The presence of such a powerful voice of the end consumer in our discussions will allow us to better understand the real needs of business.
At the same time, law plays a key role in any developed market. The addition of JUSCUTUM Law Firm significantly strengthens the legal and regulatory expertise of the Energy Club. In a time when market rules are constantly changing and the relationships between its participants are becoming more complex, access to high-class legal support is critically important. JUSCUTUM’s expertise in supporting energy projects, GR, and business protection, enhanced by their focus on innovation and IT, will help us more effectively advocate for the community’s interests and develop high-quality proposals for government bodies.
Finally, I am delighted to welcome BURSHTYN ENERGOMASH LLC. This company represents the important and dynamic segment of independent suppliers—the foundation of a competitive market. It is companies like these that work daily with non-household consumers, supplying them with energy and taking on significant market risks. Their practical experience and understanding of the retail market’s challenges are indispensable to our collective dialogue. As the company’s director, Yuriy Parakhoniak, said in an interview, “joint initiatives will help make the energy sector modern and resilient,” and we fully share this view.
So, what does the addition of these three companies mean for all of us? It means that our community is becoming even more representative. Now, when we talk about market problems, we are looking at them from the perspective of a large consumer, an independent supplier, and a leading lawyer. This allows us to see the full picture and form a position that considers the interests of the entire ecosystem.
It is in such synergy that I see the future of the Energy Club and the key to the development of a resilient, competitive, and transparent energy market in Ukraine. I am pleased to welcome our new members and look forward to a fruitful collaboration!
