When we at the Energy Club talk about the “energy front,” we often focus on the physical protection and restoration of facilities. We see men in helmets and specialized clothing repairing damaged equipment. But this picture is incomplete.
The resilience of our energy system is not just about physical protection. It’s about financial stability, continuous legal operations, operational management, and the daily support of thousands of employees.
A vast number of women work in our 90 member companies of the Energy Club. And during the war, their role has become critical.
These are women engineers who, on par with men, develop restoration projects and manage complex technical processes. These are women traders who, in conditions of frantic market volatility, find and contract the necessary resources 24/7—be it electricity or gas. These are lawyers who document damages and prepare lawsuits that will define the future of the industry. These are analysts and communicators who maintain connections with society and partners. These are women financiers who, in the chaos of attacks, find the liquidity to purchase equipment, and HR managers who keep people in focus, motivate teams under fire, and care for the families of energy workers. These are department heads and specialists who make immensely difficult decisions every day. This work is often less visible than physical restoration, but without it, the system would not have survived.
We at the Energy Club see this contribution. But we also see the immense fatigue and pressure under which these women operate, often combining professional responsibility with the care of their own families amidst wartime realities.
That is why, on December 10th, we decided to hold the forum “THE ENERGY OF WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP.”
Our goal is very simple and humane. Firstly – to say “thank you.” Not formally, but substantively. To acknowledge this titanic contribution to the industry’s resilience. Secondly – to provide a platform for support. We want to gather our colleagues so they can feel they are not alone. So they can share their unique experience—the experience of wartime management that only those who have been through the same can truly understand.
We will not talk about abstract things. Our panels are about practical cases:
For me, this forum is not about “gender quotas” or beautiful words. It is about recognizing real work, mutual support, and the incredible strength that our women professionals invest daily in our future victory.
We also clearly understand: in the long term, considering post-war reconstruction, European integration, and the transition to a new, decentralized energy system, the role of women specialists in the industry will only intensify. And this forum is also an investment in our shared future.
I sincerely invite all women leaders from the Energy Club member companies, as well as our partners from governmental and international organizations, to join this conversation.
We look forward to seeing you on December 10th.
