Oleg Datsko: "Energy Club is a professional community, always open to new ideas"

In 2026, Energy Club celebrates 10 years of activity. By the anniversary year, the Club has launched a series of interviews with member companies to hear their feedback: why they joined the community at one time, what practical value they see in membership, which formats they consider the most useful, and what role they see Energy Club playing for the energy market of Ukraine.

The company joined Energy Club in June 2022. According to Oleg Datsko, this decision was natural, because in the modern energy environment it is more effective to develop together with a professional community that allows you to quickly find answers to current issues, exchange practical experience and stay abreast of key changes in the market.

In an interview, Oleg Datsko talks about the practical value of participating in the Energy Club, the importance of professional dialogue, educational direction, open discussions and the role of the Club as a platform that unites market participants around the development of the Ukrainian energy sector.

How long has your company been a member of the Energy Club and why did you decide to join the Club at one time?

Our company joined the Energy Club on June 15, 2022. The decision was quite natural, because we understood that in the modern energy environment it is more effective to develop together with a professional community. Energy Club is a platform where you can quickly find answers to current questions, exchange practical experience with colleagues and stay up to date with key changes taking place in the market.

What practical value does participation in Energy Club provide for your company?

First of all, it is professional communication, participation in open discussions and the opportunity to be part of a common market position on the formation of transparent rules of operation in the energy industry. It is especially valuable that during the period of large-scale transformation of the Ukrainian energy sector, Energy Club pays attention to both new areas of development and does not neglect existing market mechanisms. The community actively represents the interests of participants, promotes constructive dialogue between business, government bodies and the expert community. For us, it is also an opportunity to constantly learn, exchange experiences and jointly find solutions to the challenges facing the market.

Which Energy Club formats are most useful for you: forums, closed meetings, online discussions, working groups, interviews, analytics? Why them?

In fact, the Energy Club team very successfully combines different formats of interaction depending on the topic, relevance of the issue and composition of participants. That is why it is difficult to single out just one format – each of them has its own value. We actively participate in forums, thematic meetings, professional discussions and other events, because each of them provides an opportunity to gain new knowledge, hear different points of view, share our own experience and expand professional contacts. It is this complex interaction that makes the Energy Club’s activities particularly effective.

How, in your opinion, has the role of Energy Club changed for the energy market of Ukraine over these 10 years?

During this time, the role of Energy Club has grown significantly. If earlier it was mainly a platform for professional communication, today the community has become one of the important centers of development of the energy industry of Ukraine. It is especially worth noting the educational direction, which has been actively developing in recent years. It is continuous learning, dissemination of practical knowledge and exchange of experience that help market participants improve their competencies, adapt to changes faster and move forward confidently.

What would you like Energy Club to wish for the next 10 years?

We wish to continue to find new growth points, not to lose the pace of development and remain a platform that unites professionals in the energy industry. May all ambitious ideas turn into successful projects, and the team continue to shape an environment where new opportunities for the development of the Ukrainian energy sector are born.

Do you have an Energy Club event, discussion, or initiative that was especially memorable to your team?

Personally, participation in the “Big Interview” section was especially memorable for me, as I had the honor of becoming its first participant. It was an interesting experience that gave me the opportunity not only to talk about the company’s activities, but also to share my own vision of the development of the energy market.
