Energy Club continues its series of expert meetings dedicated to the reform of the National Regulator (NEURC). Currently, two draft laws are under consideration in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, intended to change the principles of the Commission’s work. As the largest association of energy companies, Energy Club actively participates in discussions to ensure that the final legislation reflects real market needs and best European practices.
With the aim of studying successful European experience, on January 29, 2026, we will conduct an exclusive interview with Jozef Holjenčík, Chairman of the Regulatory Office for Network Industries (ÚRSO), Slovakia.
Legislative Benchmark: Slovakia is an example of a market where mechanisms of institutional independence of the Regulator work effectively. It is crucial for us to understand how these safeguards are implemented in practice to utilize this experience in dialogue with Ukrainian lawmakers.
Business Interest: Slovakia is a strategic direction for Ukrainian traders. Many Club member companies are already working there or planning to enter this market. Understanding regulatory requirements “firsthand” is critical for successful operations.
We have received consent from Mr. Holjenčík’s office to include questions from Ukrainian businesses in the interview.
If you are already working in the Slovak market or are interested in the regulatory experience of this country, we are ready to voice your questions.
Please send them to the Club’s official email: info@iclub.energy
Deadline: January 27, 2026 (Tuesday).
The most relevant questions will be forwarded to the Chairman of ÚRSO prior to the interview. The full version of the conversation will be published on Energy Club resources.
