Energy Club continues to shape the representative lineup for the international conference Europe-Ukraine Energy Trading Forum: Recovery, Market Coupling & New Trading Frontiers, which will take place on June 9, 2026, in Budapest. Ireneusz Bil, President of the Management Board of the Polish company Energy Gate Europe, has joined the speaker panel. The participation of the head of one of the active players in the European energy market will allow for a substantive discussion on cross-border trading of electricity and natural gas in today’s realities.
Ireneusz Bil possesses unique managerial and expert experience that combines real business practice with a deep understanding of macroeconomic and political processes in the European Union. A Doctor of Economics and a specialist in the field of energy security, he has participated in shaping Poland’s foreign policy course for many years. Between 1997 and 2006, Mr. Bil served as an energy and international security expert at the National Security Bureau and the Chancellery of the President of Poland, and directly participated in the negotiation process for the country’s accession to the EU and NATO. Subsequently, he managed Aleksander Kwaśniewski’s “Amicus Europae” Foundation for many years.
Since 2019, Ireneusz Bil has headed Energy Gate Europe, successfully building trading operations in European markets during their period of greatest transformation and turbulence.
Within the forum’s panel discussion, it is planned to examine in detail the practical aspects of the integration of Ukrainian and European energy markets (Market Coupling). It is expected that the speaker will share a vision of how the European trading business evaluates the prospects for expanding cross-border interconnection capacity, what risks and opportunities it sees in cooperation with Ukrainian counterparties, and what new commercial niches are opening up against the backdrop of the recovery of Ukraine’s energy system.
As a reminder, the Europe-Ukraine Energy Trading Forum is a platform for direct dialogue between Ukrainian companies and European investors and traders. The event will take place on the eve of the specialized exhibition ETCSEE, ensuring the presence of key decision-makers in the energy industry of Central and Eastern Europe.
