Yurii Pidlisnyi: "Energy Club is a competent, effective and influential community"

Energy Club – the largest community of energy leaders in Ukraine since 2016, a business community that unites 75 leading companies in Ukraine’s energy market and creates opportunities for communication between its stakeholders.

Yurii Pidlisnyi, the head of Energy 365 LLC – a supplier of electricity and gas for non-household consumers and a balancing group operator, called Energy Club a competent, effective and influential community.

“Energy Club brings together producers, suppliers and consumers of energy resources. This is very useful for exchanging experiences, information, solving current crisis situations, and promptly addressing urgent issues in the energy market,” says Yurii. “As an example: thanks to Energy Club in 2023, when the state regulator planned to sharply increase price caps on the DAM, IDM and balancing markets, through constructive dialogue, an understanding was reached, and prices increased gradually. We initiated the discussion, and Energy Club supported this idea, bringing together on its platform a large number of energy enterprises and companies – market participants and a significant number of consumers who also joined this process. We proposed keeping electricity prices at the level they were before the full-scale invasion. As a result, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities established new price caps for the day-ahead market, as well as the intraday and balancing markets, and the liberalization of prices in the wholesale electricity market through the cancellation or change of price caps (price restrictions or ceiling prices) did not lead to ‘price shocks’, as the price increases in certain hours of the day and decreases in others.”

In other words, the community prevented a rapid price increase. A large number of people — energy market participants, both producers and suppliers, as well as consumers — joined the discussion of the problem, the search for legal levers of influence, and the development of a mechanism for interaction with responsible structures. The information was communicated and taken into account when making the decision.

This is just one example of many achievements of Energy Club. From the perspective of relations with Ukrenergo, there were meetings that also influenced the market, calculations, and debt reduction.

“I would like to meet more often and simply communicate, as the speakers at events and forums are professional, experienced people,” adds Yurii Pidlisnyi. “And we gather to prevent problems or discuss ways to solve them. Such are the times. But it is also good that there is such a competent, effective and influential community.”

Energy Club Dossier:

Yurii Pidlisnyi was born on April 16, 1983, in the village of Shypynky, Bar (now Zhmerynka) district, Vinnytsia region.

Education: In 2005, he graduated from the National University of Water Management and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Mechanics, received a master’s degree with honors; in 2011, he graduated from the Institute of Postgraduate Education of the National Aviation University, was awarded the qualification of “lawyer.”

Career: From 2005 to 2012, he worked in structural divisions of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Central Apparatus of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine; from 2012 to 2017, he worked in managerial positions in state and private enterprises; since 2017, he has been working as the head of Energy 365 LLC.

Energy 365 LLC, which has been supplying electricity since 2019, is one of the leading companies in the market.

Yurii Pidlisnyi on the company’s policy, attitude towards consumers, work during the full-scale invasion, and plans for the future:

  • We have always been focused on the consumer. Our company’s policy is openness; we communicate with everyone. During the war, dialogue brought us even closer: it became shorter and more productive. We are in the same situation, so we need to help each other.
  • In wartime conditions, it is important that every consumer has electricity. Electricity delivery is the function of oblenergo (regional electricity companies), and in my opinion, they are coping with their task. As for us, since the beginning of the war, we have maintained contact with all our consumers, even in temporarily occupied territories until their de-occupation. We allowed them to consume electricity, provided opportunities for payment deferrals, helped in interaction with oblenergo: how to properly terminate a contract or suspend it, restructure debt — as some people lost or stopped their businesses.
  • The company’s strategy also changed during the full-scale invasion. Since 2022, approximately 35% of companies engaged in selling electricity to consumers have defaulted and left the market. This has affected both consumers and us. We did not default, and this is already a characteristic of Energy 365.
  • We work with consumers as partners. Everything is built on trust and partnership. We are a reliable partner, always nearby, always ready to help and support. The company is teamwork.
  • The best advertising is recommendations, and we have many positive reviews from our consumers. We constantly work on improving services and reducing prices for consumers. It is very important to communicate with the client and respond to their needs. Consumers understand that not everything depends on the supplier, but they can influence the final price of electricity for themselves — as in the above-mentioned example with Energy Club.
  • We have a YouTube channel, various additional services that other suppliers don’t have, as well as Energy 365 Academy — mini-lessons for those who are interested. We explain how the price is formed, how to change the supplier, calculate financial guarantees, where to find necessary information. Such lessons give consumers and suppliers the opportunity to familiarize themselves with current information and make informed decisions: how to act, where to purchase, and with whom to cooperate. We want consumers to be more knowledgeable so that their ignorance cannot be exploited or abused.
  • Our plans are to expand, scale up, and increase sales volumes. Forward and only forward — there is no way back.
