On the eve of the most challenging autumn-winter period in Ukraine’s history, the energy community faces unprecedented challenges. Large-scale damage to generation facilities, economic difficulties, and new market realities demand maximum coordination and innovative solutions from all market participants.

Is the power grid ready for peak loads? What role do the recent changes in electricity price caps play in ensuring stability? And what steps must the government and businesses take to get through the winter with minimal losses?

Energy Club brings together representatives of key generating companies, market operators, leading experts, and members of parliament for an open and professional conversation about the most pressing issues in preparing for the autumn-winter period.

This meeting is an opportunity to “synchronize watches,” hear the positions of all parties, and jointly develop recommendations to ensure Ukraine’s energy stability.

Key Discussion Questions:

  • What is the real condition of the generating capacities (nuclear, hydro, thermal) after the attacks?
  • What volumes of electricity imports may be needed, and is the infrastructure ready for them?
  • How have the new price caps affected the financial standing of generating companies and their repair campaigns?
  • Do the new price caps stimulate commercial electricity imports in the required volumes?
  • What further market liberalization steps are necessary to increase its resilience?
  • How can the problem of market debt, which hinders preparation for the autumn-winter period, be resolved?

Invited Participants (list to be confirmed):

  • Maksym Nemchynov, Vice President of Energy Club
  • Viktoriia Hryb, Member of Parliament of Ukraine
  • Roman Bekuzarov, Deputy Commercial Director of D.TRADING
  • Bogdan Sukhetsky, Acting Director General of PJSC Ukrhydroenergo
