100 MW of solar generation and 200 MWh of energy storage: Ascania Energy and Risen Energy sign project agreements in Ukraine

17.08.2026

Ascania Energy, part of the Askania Group, and international energy equipment manufacturer Risen Energy have signed two memorandums of understanding on cooperation in the field of solar energy and energy storage. They define the framework for cooperation on projects in Ukraine with a total capacity of up to 100 MW of solar generation and 200 MWh of energy storage.

The documents were signed on August 14 at Risen Energy’s production site in China. As part of the cooperation, Risen Energy will provide technologies and equipment for solar generation and energy storage. Ascania Energy will be responsible for the development and implementation of projects in Ukraine, engineering, equipment integration and local service.

The partnership is focused on the Ukrainian market and the needs of the energy system, which continues to recover from large-scale Russian attacks on generation facilities and network infrastructure. Simultaneously with the reconstruction in Ukraine, the need for new distributed capacities is growing – generation located closer to the consumer, and systems that allow you to accumulate electricity and use it when the load on the network is greatest.

The combination of solar generation and storage facilities is one of the practical tools for such a restructuring. Solar plants create additional local capacities, and storage allows you to store the generated electricity and use it at other times – in particular during periods of high demand or network restrictions.

For Ukrainian enterprises, the development of such solutions means the opportunity to diversify energy supply sources, combining electricity from the grid with their own generation and storage. After the attacks on energy infrastructure, the issue of continuity of energy supply has become not only operational for businesses, but also one of the factors of production and investment sustainability.

Today, it is fundamentally important for Ukraine not to simply restore the energy infrastructure destroyed by Russian attacks, but to use the reconstruction to create a more sustainable and decentralized energy system. We need new generating capacities, storage and technologies that can be quickly integrated into the Ukrainian market. It is from this point of view that we consider cooperation with Risen Energy – as access to technological and production capabilities for the implementation of specific projects in Ukraine,” said Yevgen Pyatko, CEO and co-owner of Ascania Energy.

Risen Energy sees the partnership as an opportunity to combine global technological expertise with local experience in implementing energy projects in Ukraine.

“Risen Energy has significant experience in the field of solar energy, energy storage systems and global deliveries, while Ascania Energy has deep knowledge of the Ukrainian market, experience in project implementation and provision of professional services. Combining these strengths with the specific needs of the Ukrainian energy sector, we aim to implement tailored solutions in the field of solar generation and energy storage and create long-term value for the country’s energy transformation,” said Jerry Qin, President of the European division of Risen Energy.

Ascania Energy operates in the Ukrainian market for the supply and trading of electricity and natural gas, and also implements projects in the field of energy infrastructure, renewable generation and storage systems. The company also participates in projects to restore and modernize Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Risen Energy is a China-based manufacturer of solar energy equipment and storage systems, whose products are represented in more than 90 countries and regions. As of the second quarter of 2026, the company’s cumulative deliveries of solar modules exceeded 121.4 GW, and of storage systems – 10 GWh.

Risen Energy has already supplied equipment to the Ukrainian market: the company’s modules were used in 12 solar projects, including the 323 MW Pokrovskaya solar power plant.

On August 13, on the eve of the signing of the memorandums, Ascania Energy CEO and co-owner Yevgeny Pyatko and Technical Director Yegor Yarmolenko visited the Risen Energy production site. The Ukrainian team got acquainted with the production and testing of solar modules and industrial storage systems, which are being considered for use in future projects in Ukraine.

The next stage of cooperation will be the identification of specific projects and sites in Ukraine. The agreements also provide for the training of Ukrainian engineering teams and the development of local technical andafter-sales service.
