Every day, Ukraine’s energy sector operates under conditions that no other country has ever faced. Missile and drone strikes have become our brutal reality. But what happens in the first minutes after an impact, besides the destruction? A fire breaks out, often causing even more damage than the explosion itself.
And here we face a critical vulnerability that, until recently: most automatic fire suppression systems simply do not work. Why? Because the first thing to disappear during an attack is the power supply. And without electricity, the vast majority of “active” systems turn into silent scrap metal. This creates a paradox: the very system meant to protect us needs protection and power itself.
Is there a solution? Yes. And, surprisingly, we can borrow the experience from our most resilient sector—nuclear energy. After the Fukushima accident, Ukrainian NPPs underwent a massive modernization, prioritizing passive protection and the complete autonomy of safety systems. As the experience of the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP shows—where German passive protection systems saved key equipment from significant damage—this approach works.
Today, as the enemy deliberately targets electrical panels, server rooms, and distribution boards, we must extend this experience to all critical infrastructure. We need solutions that are independent of external conditions and are guaranteed to work.
That is why Energy Club, together with our partner, EPPC SPETSZASHCHITA LLC—an expert with 15 years of experience in protecting NPPs and other strategic facilities—is organizing an exclusive in-person meeting. We want to initiate a professional conversation about a new level of fire protection, where autonomy and speed take center stage.
The meeting will feature the innovative BlazeCut technology—a fully autonomous fire suppression system that requires neither a power supply nor human intervention.
This event will be particularly useful for:
This is not just a product demonstration, but a strategic discussion on how to make our infrastructure truly resilient.
Join us on August 29 in Kyiv. Details regarding the time and location will be sent to all registered participants.
The resilience of our country is the sum of the resilience of each of its components.
