Polina Fenenko: "At Energy Club we are not competitors, but partners and friends"

Limited Liability Company “Hyatt Estate” (AMPERIUM tm) began its activities as an independent supplier of electricity at free prices in February 2019. Currently, its consumers are more than 500 enterprises from various sectors of the Ukrainian economy. The company’s employees are specialists with extensive experience in the energy sector.

The company is a member of the Energy Club, and its head Polina Fenenko spoke about the benefits of the community:

– When we became members of the Energy Club, the company was still quite young in the electricity market. And it was the club that helped us navigate the business environment of the energy supply sector. At its meetings, we met professionals, and this served not only to expand business contacts. This is time-tested cooperation, partnership – a story that has been written for 5 years. We are real business friends, and I am not sure whether we would have gotten to know each other as quickly if it were not for Energy Club.

One of the great advantages of the club is lively and convenient communication, which is simply necessary, because the electricity market is new, many issues still remain insufficiently regulated. And companies that are essentially competitors in the market, in Energy Club become partners and like-minded people – together we defend our positions, express our point of view on legislative changes that often complicate doing business, initiate discussions and appeals to various institutions. And this is the uniqueness of Energy Club – it managed to turn representatives of the energy industry business from competitors into partners and friends.

Energy Club has united people who do not just want to meet and talk, spend their leisure time together, but to be useful in symbiosis. Not just to earn quick money, but to work in business for a long time, confidently and successfully. This requires collective cooperation.

“Do you remember, we met at the Energy Club event?” – this phrase is a connecting link, a kind of password for resuming communication, even if we have not been in contact for several years. Our company monitors all events held by Energy Club, and whenever possible, we participate in them.

– Has the club been able to solve specific problems?

– Energy Club events are always clearly organized, constructive, useful and interesting. And many of them are aimed at overcoming specific problems. As an example, Energy Club sent an appeal to the Chairman of the National Commission for State Regulation in the Sphere of Energy and Utilities (NKREKP) Yuriy Vlasenko regarding critical issues faced by electricity suppliers after recent legislative changes. In particular, this concerns the risk of suppliers acquiring the status of “Pre-default” and “Default” due to delays in payments to the transmission system operator, especially when these delays are caused by unpaid debts from critical infrastructure facilities.

The appeal calling for regulatory measures that balance the interests of all market participants, while ensuring the energy security of Ukraine under martial law, was signed by representatives of 15 energy companies.

This is a serious issue, because the electricity market operates at the expense of the liquidity of independent suppliers, to whom budget organizations owe millions, and at the same time suppliers have obligations to other market participants. It is clear that the debt must be repaid, but the state in which the state and consumers are located must be taken into account. Therefore, it is economically inexpedient to oppress supplier companies.

Once again, we must pay tribute to Energy Club: what we discuss during the meetings, the club analyzes, forms into appeals and sends them to the appropriate authorities. And for this, we are very grateful to them. The club team does an excellent job of completing each task.

I would like all Energy Club members to have the opportunity to meet in person more often.
