The recent crisis and the artificial price collapse on the spot electricity market have exposed another, deeper, and more systemic problem—a critical lack of transparency and access to key market data.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, market participants—suppliers, traders, producers, and consumers—have been operating in conditions of complete informational uncertainty. There is a lack of data on generation volumes, the balance of production and consumption, and real price benchmarks. This makes adequate forecasting impossible.
Continuing to operate in an “information vacuum” is unsustainable. It not only kills competition and trust in the market but also jeopardizes its integration into the European energy space.
Energy Club is gathering market participants, experts, and government representatives for a frank conversation to discuss why a return to transparency is a matter of survival for the market and to formulate a joint roadmap for action.
