About the Company

The State Enterprise “National Nuclear Power Generating Company “Energoatom” is the operator of four operating nuclear power plants in Ukraine, which operate 15 nuclear power units with a total installed capacity of 13,835 MW, 2 hydroelectric units of the Tashlyk PSP with an installed capacity of 302 MW, and 2 hydroelectric units of the Oleksandrivska HPP with an installed capacity of 11.5 MW. The company is the largest producer of electricity in Ukraine, providing over 50% of the total energy balance.

History

NNEGC Energoatom was established in October 1996. The Company includes four operating nuclear power plants – Zaporizhia, Rivne, South-Ukrainian and Khmelnytskyi, as well as 12 production, service and repair units. In order to support and expand cooperation with international organizations and partners and promote the strategic interests of the Company and the state, in 2014 the Company opened its own representative office in Brussels. In 2018, the Company established a separate division, Energoatom-Trading, the main purpose of which was the sale of electricity in the new market.

Since its establishment, Energoatom has implemented a number of strategically important projects for the state and for the development of the Company: two power units with VVER-1000 reactors, two hydraulic units of a pumped storage power plant were completed and put into operation, the on-site storage facility for spent nuclear fuel of the Zaporizhzhia NPP was put into operation, a national personnel training system for NPPs and a network of educational and training centers for personnel training were created, a unified system of scientific and technical support and its own industrial base for providing materials, equipment and services were created.
