Huawei's UZE platform is the first in the world to receive the highest security certificate from TÜV Rheinland

December 24, 2024 Shenzhen (China) Huawei Digital Power and TÜV Rheinland jointly completed the safety verification of the Energy Storage System (ESS) on the Huawei Smart String ESS with Networking Function platform.

TÜV Rheinland is a world-renowned independent organization specializing in testing, trials, and certification. Based on existing standards and improving safety concepts, TÜV Rheinland has developed a comprehensive safety classification for energy storage systems (ESS) adapted to specific scenarios.

Unique UZE safety classification:

• Basic level – UZE complies with the basic laws, regulations, standards and safety requirements for market admission.
• Plus level – UZE provides enhanced mechanical, electrical, thermal and environmental protection, preventing fires caused by heat leakage at the battery level.
• Premium level – UZE prevents heat from spreading at the battery level even in extreme scenarios where the fire is caused by external factors, ensuring personnel safety.

TÜV Rheinland awarded Huawei the world’s first Premium certification for UZE safety. This certification highlights the unrivaled security capabilities of the Huawei Smart String UZE with Networking Function, developed by Huawei Digital Power.
