Energy Club appealed to the National Security and Defense Council with proposals for the successful completion of the 2024/2025 OZP

Energy Club, the largest business community of energy companies in Ukraine, has addressed the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) with an official appeal to ensure the successful completion of the 2024/2025 heating season. In the appeal, Energy Club emphasized the need to implement urgent measures and cooperate with the state and business for the stable operation of the country’s energy system in difficult conditions.

Energy Club’s proposals for the stable operation of the energy sector

According to the results of the discussion, which took place on May 21 at the initiative of Energy Club, experts determined that for reliable energy supply it is necessary to focus on the development and support of distributed generation, which includes gas piston and gas turbine plants. Special emphasis was placed on strategic development plans, which should be integrated into the overall energy policy of Ukraine.

Energy Club’s main recommendations:

1. Simplify the processes of approving project documentation and connecting distributed generation facilities.
2. Legislative regulation of land use for the placement of cogeneration units at critical infrastructure facilities.
3. Provide investors with clear guidelines and fix gas prices for cogeneration units for the period of martial law.
4. Develop a step-by-step plan for the placement of generation facilities together with public and private partners.

Energy Club also proposes to optimize energy consumption through an information campaign for the population and measures to voluntarily limit electricity consumption.
