Energy Club was contacted by a member company of the Energy 365 Club regarding the risk of non-payment by heating and power companies and the possible impact of this situation on the electricity market.
In the appeal, the company raised issues related to the current settlements of district heating companies for consumed electricity in the conditions of arrest or blocking of the accounts of individual enterprises, as well as the risks of transferring the debt problem of the heat supply sector to electricity suppliers, the supplier of “last hope”, NPP Ukrenergo, the balancing market and other market participants.
Energy Club is currently studying the appeal received and considers the raised issues important for a broad professional discussion with the participation of the Club’s member companies, market experts, representatives of state authorities, the regulator, system operators, electricity suppliers, DH companies and other stakeholders.

Energy Club plans to organize an online meeting in the near future for representatives of the Club’s member companies, energy market experts, relevant state authorities and other market participants to discuss this problem and develop possible practical solutions.
Based on the results of the discussion, Energy Club will consider the possibility of preparing an agreed position and further addressing the competent authorities regarding the need to resolve the situation.
