Energy Club to Host Closed Online Meeting with Cactos CEO on European Experience in BESS Development

15.07.2026

On September 8, Energy Club is hosting a closed online meeting with Oskari Jaakkola, CEO of the Finnish company Cactos. We will discuss how the battery energy storage systems (BESS) market is actually developing in Europe and which parts of this experience are realistically applicable in Ukraine.

Cactos is one of the few players in the market that builds BESS solutions end-to-end—from its own manufacturing facilities in Finland to proprietary software. Founded in 2021, the company already boasts a team of over 100 people, with offices in Kempele, Helsinki, and Amsterdam. Cactos has been a member of Energy Club since 2025.

The Ukrainian energy storage market is gradually emerging from its pilot stage. The first real projects are appearing, developers are searching for viable business models, and EPC contractors are navigating the specifics of grid integration. Right now, the experience of markets that have already walked this path shifts from theory to a practical, invaluable tool.

Key Discussion Topics:

  • What is happening in the European BESS market and where it is heading
  • How projects are structured from the technology manufacturer’s perspective, rather than just the developer’s
  • The real role of software and digital management in energy storage operations
  • How an international technology company can collaborate with Ukrainian engineering teams and EPC contractors
  • Which parts of the Finnish and broader European experience can be transferred to Ukraine right now

Date: September 8, 2026
Time: 16:00–17:00 (Kyiv time)
