Energy Club is preparing to host an important forum dedicated to the dialogue between the energy industry and industrial consumers. Andrii Kostrytsia, President of Energy Club, spoke about the purpose, expectations, and uniqueness of this event.
– Andrii, Energy Club has announced the forum “Consumer-Centric Energy System: The Voice of Industry for Energy Security and Technological Development.” Why did Energy Club decide to organize such an event right now, and what was the main impetus?
– We are living in extremely turbulent times when the issue of energy security is critical for Ukraine. However, while analyzing numerous discussions and events, we noticed a certain imbalance: the voice of the key player – the consumer, especially the large industrial consumer – often remains insufficiently heard.
Industrial enterprises are the foundation of our economy, and their effective operation directly depends on a stable, affordable, and high-quality energy supply. That is why we decided to create a platform for direct dialogue, so that energy professionals can hear industrialists, and industrialists can understand the opportunities and challenges of the energy sector. The main impetus is the need for practical solutions that can only be developed through open and constructive interaction.
– What key topics will be discussed at the forum? How well do they align with the current challenges for Ukrainian industry and energy?
– The forum’s agenda has been carefully designed to cover the most pressing aspects. We will focus on two main panel discussions. The first is “Energy Supply for Industry: Challenges, Needs, and Solutions.” Here, we will talk about the real risks that enterprises face: stability, cost, quality, and predictability of energy supply. We want to understand how disruptions affect production, what requirements are critical for different industries, and what measures by energy companies and the state are necessary to increase reliability and reduce costs.
The second panel is “Modernization and Innovation for Industrial Energy Independence.” This is about the future. We will discuss energy efficiency technologies, investments in modernization, barriers to implementing “green” solutions, the role of distributed generation, and necessary incentives. These topics directly correspond to the challenges of war and reconstruction, as without a reliable energy supply and the possibility of modernization, the industry will not be able to fully function and develop.
– Holding such a large-scale event would be impossible without the support of partners. Could you tell us about the companies that supported the forum? How important is their role?
– Undoubtedly, we are extremely grateful to all our partners for their support. Their participation is a testament to the importance of the topic and a shared understanding of the need for dialogue.
Our General Partner is Huawei. Its support is key, as Huawei is a leader in digital energy solutions, and the company’s experience in modernizing energy systems and implementing innovative technologies is invaluable.
Also among our partners are “Vector VS,” “Odesacable,” “Volten,” “Maekawa,” and the “Ukrainian Energy Exchange.” Each of these companies represents an important segment of the energy or industrial sector, and their willingness to join the discussion and search for solutions underscores their social responsibility and interest in the development of the industry. Without such consolidated support from business, organizing a forum of this level would be extremely difficult. We greatly appreciate their trust and contribution.
– What specific results does Energy Club expect from this forum? How do you plan to use the collected information and developments?
– Our expectations are very specific. Firstly, it is the collection of proposals and recommendations from industrial consumers. We are conducting a preliminary survey, and its results will be presented at the forum, which will become a starting point for discussions.
Secondly, we aim to deepen the understanding of the problems and needs of the industry among energy professionals and government representatives. Thirdly, it is the strengthening of cooperation between the energy and industrial sectors – we believe that only through joint efforts can results be achieved.
And, ultimately, all this should contribute to the sustainable economic development of Ukraine through the effective provision of the energy needs of the industry. The developed recommendations will be systematized and transferred to the relevant state bodies and energy companies for further implementation.
– The forum has a very broad target audience. Who, in your opinion, will benefit most from participation, and why?
– Everyone interested in Ukraine’s stable energy future will benefit. Of course, we place the greatest emphasis on representatives of industrial enterprises from all regions and sectors. Their voice is central. But no less important are representatives of energy generating companies, transmission and distribution system operators, energy traders, construction companies in the energy sector, as well as representatives of state bodies and local self-government. For energy professionals, this is an opportunity to hear about the real needs of clients firsthand, for the authorities – to receive feedback for policy formation, and for industrialists – to find partners and solutions for their energy challenges.
– What makes this forum unique among other events dedicated to energy?
– The uniqueness of this forum lies in its clear focus on the consumer, not just on production or transmission. We consciously bring the needs of the industry to the forefront.
Secondly, it’s the practical orientation. We are not just discussing problems, but looking for specific solutions and interaction mechanisms.
Thirdly, it’s the composition of moderators and speakers, representing both the energy sector and industry, as well as government bodies. This will ensure the most objective and comprehensive dialogue. And, of course, the results of the preliminary survey, which will form the basis for discussions, make this forum unique in its methodology.
– What is your main message to potential forum participants?
– My message is very simple: your voice matters! Ukraine’s energy security is a shared responsibility. Come to the forum to be heard, share your experience, find solutions for your enterprises, and make your contribution to the reconstruction and development of our country. We look forward to seeing you on June 12th in Kyiv!
