Energy Club held a discussion "Energy Freedom" on the topic of energy modernization of water utilities in Ukraine

On December 12, Energy Club organized the event Energy Freedom by Energy Club, dedicated to discussing the energy modernization of water supply and wastewater utilities in Ukraine.

The discussion took place in partnership with the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine. Its goal was to identify ways to improve the energy efficiency of water supply and wastewater utilities, formulate recommendations for local governments, and create a space for dialogue where local governments (LGs) could voice their expectations, challenges, and needs for support.

Among the participants of the discussion:

  • Oleksiy Kucherenko, People’s Deputy of Ukraine
  • Nataliya Khotsyanivska, Director of the Department of Communal Services of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine
  • Dmytro Novytsky, President of the Association of Water Utilities of Ukraine “Ukrvodokanalekologiya”
  • Oleksandr Shkin, Director of the Association “Ukrvodokanalekologiya”
  • Inna Vinnychuk, WASH specialist, UNICEF Ukraine
  • Serhiy Karelin, Water Supply Expert of the NGO “Expert Platform for Energy Efficiency”
  • Dmytro Petrunin, Head of the Energy Efficiency Department of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine
  • Anton Buyar, Head of the Technical Expert Group of the Office for Coordination of Restoration Projects of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine

The discussion was moderated by Valeriy Bezus, Vice President of Energy Club.

Energy Club publishes a presentation by one of the speakers – Dmytro Novytsky, President of the Association “Ukrvodokanalekologiya”. The presentation “Vodokanals of Ukraine: Challenges, Solutions and Partnership” highlights the current state of municipal water supply, emphasizes the necessary steps towards energy modernization and suggests ways to develop partnerships to increase the efficiency of the industry’s enterprises.

Energy Club will continue to create platforms for professional dialogue, contributing to the implementation of effective solutions and sustainable development of the energy sector in Ukraine.
