About the Company

Elementum Energy, founded in 2019, is a leading international investor in Ukraine’s renewable energy sector, with offices in Kyiv and London. The company manages one of the country’s largest renewable energy portfolios, comprising solar and wind power plants with a total installed capacity of 636 MW.

Despite the challenges caused by the full-scale invasion, Elementum Energy continues to expand its operations. Earlier this year, construction began on the 57.6 MW Danube Wind Farms project in southern Ukraine, with commissioning scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. Two additional wind farm projects with capacities of 200 MW and 158.6 MW, located in western and southern Ukraine, are currently under development. Once operational, these projects will add more than 400 MW of new capacity to the Ukrainian power system and generate approximately 800 GWh of renewable electricity annually, helping avoid more than 1 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions through reduced reliance on fossil fuels. Elementum Energy is also exploring energy storage technologies and plans to test a pilot battery energy storage project with a capacity of 10 MW and storage volume of 20 MWh later this year.

Elementum Energy is one of the key drivers of Ukraine’s electricity market, actively trading electricity and renewable energy products. The company buys, sells, structures, and optimises energy portfolios, manages market positions, and contributes to liquidity in the open market. It consistently pioneers new market mechanisms and products, tests and scales innovative commercial models, and helps shape trends in renewable electricity trading and guarantees of origin in Ukraine.

Elementum Energy’s annual renewable electricity generation amounts to 946,574 MWh, helping avoid 726,969 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. The company actively supports initiatives aimed at advancing a sustainable and low-carbon future. More information is available in the company’s Sustainability Report on its website.

History

Founded in 2019, Elementum Energy initially focused on developing and operating solar power plants across Ukraine. By 2020, over 500 MW of installed capacity had entered commercial operation across six regions.

In 2021, the company diversified into wind energy by launching the Dniester Wind Farm in the Odesa region. Phase I (40 MW) commenced operations in May 2021, and despite the challenges posed by the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Phase II (60 MW) was successfully commissioned in July 2023.

By the end of 2023, Elementum Energy’s total operational capacity reached 636 MW. The company continues to grow its portfolio with new renewable projects in development and a pilot battery storage facility designed to enhance grid flexibility and investment returns.

With offices in Kyiv and London, the company employs over 80 professionals dedicated to advancing sustainable energy solutions in Ukraine and beyond.
