“EKNIS” Company was founded in 2005 and has been successfully operating in the energy market of Ukraine for almost 20 years. It is a unified team of more than 150 highly qualified specialists who successfully implement complex technical solutions in projects of various complexity levels.
The main areas of activity include reconstruction and construction of 35-750 kV substations, automation of electrical substations and networks, implementation of relay protection and automation systems, reactive power compensation and power quality improvement, comprehensive analytical systems for environmental monitoring and systems for determining the physicochemical composition of natural gas, as well as supply of high-voltage electrical equipment and equipment for its setup and testing.
The company promotes innovation in its solutions: “digital substation” technologies, IEC 61850 standard; provides cybersecurity measures and uses controllers, protection terminals, and software from top global brands. Special pride comes from projects with a high degree of complexity—both in terms of technological content and implementation timeframes. The company’s own production of automation cabinets, control systems, and relay protection systems ensures flexibility and compliance with the highest quality standards.

History
Over this time, “Eknis” Company has gone from being an integrator of comprehensive solutions for relay protection and substation automation systems to a leading market player in the reconstruction and construction of energy facilities:
- 2005 – Engineering company “Eknis” was founded, with its main activity being the implementation of relay protection and substation automation systems.
- 2009 – Opened its own production of relay protection cabinets and automation cabinets.
- 2010 – Created a service center for repair and adjustment of SF6 power equipment.
- 2010 – Created a division for implementing analytical systems.
- 2016 – Created a division for reactive power compensation and power quality systems.
- 2018 – Created a division for reconstruction and construction of 35-750 kV substations.
The company is the official representative in Ukraine of European companies such as Dilo and Intertec, as well as an official partner of Omicon.
During its operation, the company has participated in innovative and branded projects:
- Implemented a “digital substation” at 150 kV substation “Prymorska WPP-2” (wind power plant with a capacity of 100 MW) based on GE equipment.
- First in Ukraine to implement the POD function (damping of low-frequency oscillations) based on STATCOM devices, which allowed Ukraine to increase power flow with the European Union.
- Implemented dynamic reactive power compensation systems STATCOM, relay protection, and automated control systems at the largest solar power plants in Ukraine (Nikopol SPP 200 MW and Pokrovsk SPP 240 MW), as well as at 330 kV substation “Tilihul” for Tilihul WPP 500 MW.
- Completed a complex of works (design, installation, and commissioning of power equipment, relay protection, automated control systems, and ASKOE) for connecting Ukraine’s first Energy Storage 1 MW (2.25 MWh).
- Implemented exemplary automated control systems for 110 kV substations at DTEK enterprises using the IEC 61850 protocol.
- Built topological models of electrical networks for JSC “Chernihivoblenergo” and JSC “Poltavaoblenergo” in the MicroSCADA DMS600 software complex as part of implementing NEURC requirements for outage management functions and automatic report generation according to Form #11.
- Implemented modern ASZI MP, relay protection, and PA (ARS ALAR, ARS PP, and ARS VL ZNPP) VRP-750 kV at Zaporizhzhia NPP.
- Developed project documentation for the construction of 330 kV KRPE and 330 kV AT in protective structures, taking into account the “Fortress Country” concept, and signed a contract for project implementation.
