To mark the 10th anniversary of its activity, Energy Club continues a series of publications in which the Club’s member companies share their experience of cooperation with the community, talk about the value of professional partnership and the role of the community in the development of the energy market of Ukraine.
EDS is an engineering and investment group that has been designing, manufacturing, building, and commissioning complex energy facilities since 2010, providing energy, revenue, and sustainability. Under the EDS brand, four strategic areas are combined — Energy, Manufacturing, Construction and eMobility. Acting as an integrator, EDS provides a full cycle of project implementation — from development and design to manufacturing, construction, connection, and service support, and also independently invests in energy projects and manages them. This model allows to minimize risks, optimize processes, and launch facilities 30% faster than the market average, fully taking responsibility for the result. Over the time of its operation, the group has implemented over 3,500 projects across Ukraine, designed over 2.5 GW of generation facilities and energy storage systems, built over 450 MW of industrial solar power plants and 320 MWh of energy storage systems. EDS has 18,886 m² of its own production facilities, has manufactured over 8,500 units of power equipment, has 30+ MW of solar power plants under its own management, and unites over 600 highly qualified specialists.
Olga But, Marketing and PR Director (CMO) of the EDS engineering and investment group, in an interview spoke about the practical value of participating in a professional community, the role of Energy Club in shaping the future of Ukrainian energy, the most valuable formats of the association’s work, and shared her wishes for its next decade.
– Even before the start of the full-scale war, the EDS Engineering and Investment Group had been an active member of Energy Club for several years. Later, during the period of massive changes that the entire energy industry was going through, our participation in the Club’s activities was temporarily suspended, – noted Olga But. – In September 2025, we renewed our participation in Energy Club, because we saw in this not only an opportunity to expand our professional circle of communication, but also to become part of a community that realistically influences the development of the energy industry. For us, this is an opportunity to share our own experience, adopt the best practices of colleagues, find new partners, participate in professional discussions, join the formation of legislative initiatives, receive up-to-date analytics, and stay at the center of key events in the energy market.
– Ms. Olga, what practical value does participation in Energy Club bring to your company?
– First of all, it is access to a professional community that unites key players of the energy market. Energy Club provides an opportunity to exchange experience, promptly receive relevant information about changes in the industry, participate in professional discussions, and build new partnerships.
For us, it is also important to be heard during discussions of legislative changes, to join the common position of the market, and to have a platform where we can not only talk about challenges, but also look for effective solutions together. A separate value is strengthening the group’s recognition, including, even, the development of our brand as an employer.
– Which Energy Club formats are most useful to you: forums, closed meetings, online discussions, working groups, interviews, analytics? Why them exactly?
– In fact, all formats of interaction are valuable to us, as each of them addresses its own tasks.
Forums are a great opportunity to exchange practical experience, find new partners, and discover new areas of cooperation. Closed meetings allow for a more detailed discussion of current challenges of the industry and looking for common solutions.
Working groups and interviews help not only to share our own expertise, but also to better understand the experience of other companies. Analytical materials allow us to react faster to market changes and make more balanced decisions.
Separately, the direction of HR brand development is important for us. Through the information platforms of Energy Club, we can tell about the company, popularize professions in energy, and attract the attention of specialists to current vacancies.
– In your opinion, how has the role of Energy Club for the energy market of Ukraine changed over these 10 years?
– Over the last ten years, and especially after the start of the full-scale war, the role of Energy Club has significantly grown.
Today, energy is one of the key industries for the country’s development and resilience. It requires quick decisions, new approaches, introduction of modern technologies, and constant interaction between business, the state, and the expert community.
That is why the role of Energy Club today goes far beyond a professional club. It is a platform that unites companies around a common goal — the development of Ukrainian energy. Here, competitors become partners, exchange experience, together look for answers to industry challenges, and form a common position on its future.
It is also important that the Club helps represent business interests at the legislative level, supports constructive dialogue with state institutions, and creates conditions for the development of the entire energy community.
– What would you wish Energy Club for the next 10 years?
– We wish Energy Club to continue to remain the place where strong partnerships, constructive dialogue, and decisions that move the energy industry forward are born.
May the number of participants grow, the professional community only strengthen, and every new initiative help make Ukrainian energy even more modern, resilient, and stronger. More large-scale projects, international cooperation, influential legislative initiatives, and, of course, energy to realize the most ambitious ideas.
– Is there an Energy Club event, discussion, or initiative that particularly stood out to your team?
– One of the brightest events for our team was the forum “Women’s Leadership Energy: Women Holding the Energy Front of Ukraine”.
This event really stood out among other industry forums. First of all, it raised one of the most pressing problems of modern energy — the staff shortage — and offered an unconventional view on its solution. In particular, through the retraining of women, expanding their participation in technical professions, and managing large-scale projects.
Today, women are increasingly actively shaping the future of the energy industry, and that is why this topic is extremely relevant. The forum not only inspired, but also showed that modern energy is about openness to new approaches, diversity, and readiness to change established rules.
– In one sentence: Energy Club for your company is…
– Energy Club for our company is a community of like-minded people, partners, and professionals who, combining experience, knowledge, and common goals, together create the future of Ukrainian energy.
Over ten years, Energy Club has become significantly bigger than a professional business community. Today, it is a space where new partnerships are born, a shared vision of energy market development is formed, and solutions for the challenges facing the industry are found.
For the EDS engineering and investment group, membership in Energy Club is an opportunity to be part of these changes, exchange experience with leading market players, influence the development of the industry, and, together with the professional community, work on the future of Ukrainian energy.
Ahead are new projects, new challenges, and new opportunities. And exactly such stories prove: the greatest value of Energy Club is the people and companies that unite their knowledge, experience, and efforts for the sake of a strong, modern, and resilient energy sector of Ukraine.
