The Government of Ukraine updated the rules for importing electricity under martial law, adopting Resolution No. 1342 of 11/26/2024. According to the updated regulation, electricity restriction measures will not apply to enterprises importing 60% of their consumption each hour, during the introduction of hourly outage schedules (HWS) in the event of energy shortages in the domestic market.

“The adopted changes are an important step towards the country’s energy stability in the heating season during martial law. Finally, they have been approved taking into account Tolk’s repeated proposals and appeals from electricity market participants. Reducing the mandatory percentage of electricity imports per hour of consumption to 60% increases the opportunity for our business clients to receive electricity uninterruptedly even during the most critical periods of the winter season. We remain ready to ensure reliable electricity supply to our consumers, using all possible tools, including imports, to promote the recovery and development of the Ukrainian economy,” said Iryna, General Director of Tolk Ukraine LLC Beresnev.

At the same time, we remind you that the interstate intersection has been increased to 2.1 GW to allow for the increase in electricity imports to Ukraine from European countries, increasing the stability of the power system.

In the previous version of the regulation, electricity restriction measures were not provided for only for enterprises that imported more than 80% of electricity each hour for their needs.
