The Epicentr K LLC group of companies is a leader in Ukrainian retail and a strategic investor in the national economy. Founded in 2003, it is a unique ecosystem that integrates retail, agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, energy, modern online services, and social infrastructure projects across Ukraine. Epicentr K demonstrates steady growth by investing in key sectors and continuously modernizing its facilities for the country’s sustainable development, specifically focusing on solar power plants and gas-piston power plants.

The group’s flagship is the national network of 72 Epicentr shopping centers, which combines a wide range of goods for home, construction, gardening, and an active lifestyle. The company pays special attention to the development of its own formats and brands.

The group is actively expanding its manufacturing divisions. Since September 2025, Epicentr K LLC has been a member of the Energy Club.

Hanna Pazynych — Director of Epicentr Generation LLC and a representative of Epicentr K LLC, in an interview with the Energy Club media department, spoke about the practical experience of Epicentr K LLC in developing its own generation, particularly the implementation of solar power plants and distributed energy projects. She also explained the economics of these solutions for large consumers. Special attention was paid to the company’s strategy for minimizing electricity costs, plans for further investment in energy efficiency, and the role of business in enhancing the resilience of the energy system.

Hanna also shared her vision of the business’s role in strengthening energy resilience and her expectations for professional dialogue, partnerships, and collective work on regulatory and industry issues within the Energy Club.

– Our company has been systematically studying the energy market for several years. Like most businesses today, we strive for energy independence and stability, – noted the head of Epicentr Generation LLC. – The main focus is the implementation of comprehensive energy solutions at our shopping centers, ensuring uninterrupted power supply and cost optimization. We operate in the segment of distributed generation and alternative energy, combining different technologies into a single efficient system.

Ms. Hanna, which projects or solutions implemented recently do you consider the most successful?

– Our introduction to energy began with solar power plants. They allow for significant savings during generation hours. I want to immediately address the skepticism of critics: we are primarily an energy consumer, so even with minimum price caps in the summer period, the key savings are achieved by reducing distribution and transmission costs.

The second serious challenge was the implementation of a distributed generation project. These are two seemingly opposite directions, but they opened up a deeper understanding of the energy industry for us and shaped our current approach to development.

What does the company plan to focus on in the next 1–3 years?

– Our strategy is as simple and pragmatic as possible: priority number one is minimizing electricity costs, the price of which is steadily rising year after year. That is why we will continue to invest in energy-efficient solutions and our own generation.

Why did you decide to join the Energy Club specifically? What was decisive in this decision?

– We are similar in many ways regarding our approaches and values. We were attracted by the ability of the Energy Club to unite all key participants of the energy market on one platform. It is an environment for sharing knowledge, practical experience, and receiving truly valuable advice from industry colleagues.

Did you have any previous contacts or joint projects with Club members? If so, what was that experience like?

– We are relatively new members of the Club – this is our first year of cooperation. At the same time, we actively participate in all Energy Club events as both speakers and listeners, and we already feel the value of this interaction.

– What practical benefits do you expect to receive from your membership in the Energy Club?

– Primarily, it is about new professional acquaintances, the opportunity to find future partners, as well as open discussions with experienced market participants and the Club’s strong expert team.

What problems or issues in the company’s work or the industry as a whole do you hope to discuss or resolve within the Club?

– We are open to discussing all issues related to the energy industry. For us, professional advice, participation in meetings, and discussions on changes in legislation and the regulatory field, which directly affect business operations, are extremely valuable.

How exactly does your company plan to participate in the work of the Energy Club: events, working groups, joint initiatives?

– We regularly receive invitations from the Energy Club to events and actively join them. In addition to participating in events, we are interested in developing joint projects, as well as working within groups where practical industry issues can be worked out in depth.

– What formats of cooperation are most useful for you: exchange of experience, search for partners, common position on regulatory issues, analytics?

– All of the mentioned formats of cooperation are important to us. We expect that over time, we will be able to build strong partnerships and be useful to the Club in each of these areas. Over the years of work, we have achieved significant results in the development of retail infrastructure and are ready to share this experience with market participants.

– How do you see the role of business – and Epicentr K LLC in particular – in increasing energy resilience in the current conditions?

– We are among the few who are simultaneously developing several types of generation within a single site. This approach allows us to ensure the uninterrupted operation of our shopping centers, remain open to visitors in difficult times, and contribute to increasing the overall resilience of the energy system.

What joint actions or Energy Club initiatives could be most useful for the industry right now?

– The greatest benefit for the industry today can be brought by joint initiatives aimed at exchanging practical experience, developing coordinated positions on regulatory changes, and creating a platform for open dialogue between business, experts, and regulators. Such interaction can accelerate the development of energy and increase its resilience.

What would you like to say or wish to your Energy Club colleagues and potential partners?

– First of all, I would like to thank our Energy Club colleagues for their openness, professionalism, and readiness for dialogue. We wish all Club participants sustainable development, bold decisions, and successful implementation of joint projects. We are convinced that it is through partnership, trust, and exchange of experience that we will be able to find effective answers to the challenges facing the energy industry today.

I would like to emphasize that for us, participation in the Energy Club is not only about networking, but above all about the responsible position of business in the development of energy. We are open to cooperation, new ideas, and pilot projects, and we are convinced that joint actions of business, the expert community, and regulators are the key to forming a stable and modern energy system.

Epicentr K LLC is convinced: sustainable energy is formed not by individual decisions, but by a systematic approach and partnership. That is why the company invests in its own generation, openly shares practical experience, and is ready to work with the market to develop solutions that will define the energy architecture of Ukraine tomorrow.
