About the Company

PJSC “Ukrhydroenergo” is the largest hydropower company in Ukraine, 100% of whose shares are owned by the state. The Company includes: Kyiv HPP and Kyiv PSP, Kaniv HPP, Kremenchug HPP, Sredneodneprovskaya HPP, Dniprovskaya HPP-1 and Dniprovskaya HPP-2, Kakhovka HPP, Dniester HPP and Dniester PSP. Kanivka PSP and Kakhovka PSP-2 are in the process of being prepared for construction. The total installed capacity of the hydroelectric power plants is 5849 MW.

History

In 1994, by order of the Ministry of Energy and Electrification of Ukraine dated 27.12.1994 No. 288 “On the establishment of the state enterprise “Dniprohydroenergo”, the Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant, Dniprodzerzhinsk Hydroelectric Power Plant, the Middle Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant Cascade, Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, and Kremenchug Hydroelectric Power Plant were reorganized into structural units. On their basis, the state enterprise “Dniprohydroenergo” was created. The order determined that the state enterprise “Dniprohydroenergo” is the legal successor of the state enterprises Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant, Dniprodzerzhinsk Hydroelectric Power Plant, the Middle Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant Cascade, Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, and Kremenchug Hydroelectric Power Plant. In 1997, by order of the Ministry of Energy dated 07.10.97 No. 24 “On changes in the structure of the State Joint-Stock Hydropower Generating Company “Dniprohydroenergo”, the Middle Dnieper Hydropower Plant Cascade was reorganized and, from October 1, 1997, separate subdivisions were created within the framework of the State Joint-Stock Hydropower Generating Company “Dniprohydroenergo” within the existing number of personnel and without changing the authorized capital of the company as structural units: the Cascade of Kyiv Hydropower Plants and PSPs and the Kaniv HPP. In accordance with the Charter of the State Joint-Stock Hydropower Generating Company “Dniprohydroenergo”, the following were included in the company’s structure: the Cascade of Kyiv Hydropower Plants and PSPs, the Kaniv HPP, the Kremenchug HPP, the Dniprodzerzhyn HPP, the Dniprov HPP and the Kakhovka HPP.

In 2003, by order of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy No. 831 dated 12/31/2003 “On the establishment of the state joint-stock company “Ukrhydroenergo” and by order No. 84 dated 02/10/2004 on the introduction of order No. 881, the State Joint-Stock Company “Dniprohydroenergo” and the State Joint-Stock Company “Dnistrohydroenergo” were reorganized by merging them and creating on their basis the State Joint-Stock Company “State Joint-Stock Company “Ukrhydroenergo” (SJSC “SJSC “Ukridroenergo”).

From June 1, 2017, PJSC “Ukrhydroenergo” became a private joint-stock company. In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine No. 363 dated 05/31/2017 It was decided to change the type of the Company from public to private and, accordingly, to change the name of the enterprise to Private Joint-Stock Company “Ukrhydroenergo”.
