On June 20, 2026, Energy Club held the seventh charity football tournament among energy companies of Ukraine ENERGY CUP-2026. The event traditionally combined a sports competition, informal communication between company representatives and a charitable component.
This year, the funds collected within the tournament will be directed to support the 20th separate brigade of K-2 unmanned systems under the command of Hero of Ukraine Lieutenant Colonel Kyrylo Veres.
10 teams participated in the tournament. According to the results of the competition, the winner was the Zaporizhzhia NPP team. The second place went to the Khmelnytskyi NPP team, the third place to the Ukrhydroenergo team.
In the individual nominations, the following were awarded: Mykhailo Tverdokhlib, Zaporizhzhia NPP – the best player of the tournament; Andriy Smetanyuk, Zaporizhzhia NPP – the best goalkeeper; Nazariy Fedynchuk, Ukrhydroenergo – the best striker.
Sergiy Snitkov – the head of the primary trade union organization of NNEGC Energoatom in an interview after the tournament shared his impressions of ENERGY CUP-2026, spoke about the level of organization of the competition and its charitable mission, the participation of teams from energy companies and internal sports training at Energoatom. He also touched upon the company’s support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other charitable initiatives, and plans for the anniversary tournament, which should become even larger and more representative.
– The impressions from the ENERGY CUP charity football tournaments are always wonderful, – noted Sergiy Snitkov. – Unfortunately, this time very few teams from other energy companies participated: in addition to Energoatom, teams from only four industry enterprises were represented on the field. But the goal of the competition is noble and important – to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, because now we have to focus all our efforts on helping our guys on the front lines.
So, ENERGY CUP is a demonstration competition during which energy companies annually traditionally participate in raising funds for the needs of our army. The teams of the NPP, the Company’s Directorate and the ATC, which work as part of NNEGC Energoatom, are permanent participants in the tournaments. Next year we also plan to support this initiative.
– It is certain that the company helps the Armed Forces of Ukraine not only within the framework of the ENERGY CUP. Tell us about other charitable events with the participation or at the initiative of NNEGC Energoatom.
– Yes, we have a lot of such initiatives. On June 28 at VDNH in Kyiv, we are the ideological sponsor of the Race of Honor named after “Recruit” — this is an annual charitable event dedicated to the memory of Oleksiy Chubashev (“Recruit”) — a famous military journalist, major of the Military Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the author of the “Recruit.UA” project, who died in June 2022. We invite servicemen who were injured or maimed to join this race. They will be offered a symbolic 100-meter race. At this event, NNEGC “Energoatom” will be represented by a team of 560 people. These are employees of nuclear power plants and all other units located in Kyiv, and members of their families.
– The Zaporizhzhia NPP team won the seventh ENERGY CUP-2026 charity football tournament. Congratulations on the championship title!
– Thank you. Last year, this team was the silver medalist of the ENERGY CUP, and in general, the teams of NNEGC Energoatom traditionally take prizes in these competitions.
Despite the fact that the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is currently occupied, and its personnel are scattered throughout Ukraine, people find an opportunity to get together and form a strong team. And we are incredibly proud of this. As well as the second place of the Khmelnytskyi NPP team.
All the nuclear power plant teams compete with each other during our internal events. Both the management and the Emergency Technical Center are being tightened – everyone is growing quite powerfully, and we see it. It is significant that during the war our people work, help the country and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and after work they willingly gather in teams, train and, first of all, maintain their health.
– Is there any encouragement for people who participate in such charitable events and win in them?
– The greatest encouragement is the participation in charitable events themselves. However, we also do not stay away from them on the ground, and our prize-winners will, of course, be financially rewarded.
Our national football team will take part in the All-Ukrainian Industry Spartakiad. Therefore, our high achievements are the result of constanthard work, training. We are proud of them, but not surprised, because we always prepare objectively and claim high prize places in various competitions.
– How do you assess the organization of the ENERGY CUP tournament and the Energy Club initiative in general?
– We are very grateful to Energy Club, in particular for these charitable competitions, and we want to continue holding such traditional tournaments. And we have a jubilee tournament ahead of us on the occasion of its 10th anniversary. We plan to invite as many energy companies and veterans of Dynamo Kyiv as possible to make the event spectacular, bright and large-scale.
