Why we continue BESS Insider, or the primary mission of Energy Club

04.03.2026

Last week, we held the first closed BESS Insider meeting for Energy Club members. There were so many inquiries regarding energy storage systems that we decided not to delay this conversation. The battery market in Ukraine is currently growing very rapidly, but for now, businesses have far more questions than answers.

The result exceeded my expectations. After the meeting, we received a lot of warm feedback from participants. Colleagues wrote that the discussion was as substantive and useful as possible, and they are already planning to join future events like this.

For me, such feedback is the best indicator of our work. This is exactly what the primary mission of Energy Club is all about. We are building a platform where company owners and top managers can honestly share real-world experience. It is a place where you can ask colleagues about the actual ROI of a project. It is where suppliers, investors, and contractors find one another, openly discuss problems, and seek workable solutions together.

Since this networking format brings obvious practical benefits to participants, we are continuing this cycle.

At the first meeting, we broke down technical challenges and basic economics. Now, it is time to move on to the question that concerns the absolute majority of investors: where to get the money and under what conditions. High capital expenditures remain the main barrier to developing this sector.

On March 13, we are holding the second BESS Insider meeting. This time, the focus will be entirely on financing. We will gather businesses and representatives of the banking sector from among our club members on one platform.

We will discuss highly practical matters:

  • Real interest rates, loan terms, and equity contribution requirements.
  • The possibility of using BESS equipment itself as collateral for the bank.
  • Assessment of war and regulatory risks by credit committees.
  • The operation of the state affordable loans program and grant lines from international partners.
  • Practical market cases and real reasons for bank rejections.

This will be a great opportunity to ask direct questions to bankers, check the realism of your financial models, and find partners for raising funds.

Registration is already open. I look forward to seeing all interested club members at our next meeting!
