JSC “The State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine” (Ukreximbank) is a universal state-owned bank founded in 1992. It’s one of Ukraine’s largest financial institutions, specializing in serving corporate clients, supporting exports, and implementing large-scale infrastructure projects.

The bank provides a full range of banking services, actively cooperates with international financial organizations, and plays a key role in the country’s financial stability.

History

Ukreximbank (JSC “The State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine”) was founded in 1992 by a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as a specialized state bank for servicing export-import operations. Since its inception, the bank has played a strategic role in supporting the country’s foreign economic activity, developing international trade, and attracting foreign capital.

In the 1990s, the bank quickly formed a network of partnerships with international financial institutions, including the EBRD, EIB, and the World Bank. In the 2000s, Ukreximbank became one of the leaders in corporate lending, actively financing infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects.

In the 2010s, the bank underwent a series of reforms and strengthened its role in implementing state export support programs. During the challenges of 2014–2022, the bank remained a reliable pillar for strategic sectors of the economy, continuing to service critical imports, defense enterprises, and municipal projects.

With the start of the full-scale war in 2022, Ukreximbank mobilized resources to support economic resilience: it financed the defense industry, energy initiatives, and participated in state aid programs for businesses.

Today, the bank remains 100% state-owned, is among the top three largest banks in Ukraine by asset volume, and is actively working on modernization, digital transformation, and rebranding to meet the challenges of the time and the needs of its clients.
