About the Company

GEN-I, d.o.o. is a leading energy trader in the region, with over 15 years of continuous growth experience, and is the first and most reliable Slovenian supplier of exclusively carbon-free electricity. Additionally, it is the leading provider of photovoltaic systems for self-consumption with the largest market share in Slovenia.

The GEN-I Group, which includes GEN-I, d.o.o. and its 17 subsidiaries and their affiliates, supplies electricity to all segments of end-users: households, small businesses, industrial consumers, and public sector clients.

The two main business areas of the GEN-I Group are the wholesale and retail procurement and supply of electricity and natural gas. This is complemented by the sale, supply, and installation of solar power plants and other products designed to increase energy efficiency.

We trade various energy products in 26 countries, from France in the West to Ukraine and Turkey in the East. We have a widespread global infrastructure that allows us to expand our trading activities to various geographical markets. We are present on all major energy exchanges in Europe and beyond, positioning us among the top traders in the region in terms of both trading volume and trust.

Our trading volume is approximately 10 times the total electricity consumption in Slovenia, and the company has consistently ranked highest in terms of trust and respect for several years, according to the largest international survey among electricity traders: the Energy Risk Rankings.

By supplying carbon-free electricity, we also give our customers the ability to choose the energy source for their power generation. With a focus on the sun as the primary source of electricity, we are the leading provider of self-sufficient solar power plants in Slovenia. We are also expanding our presence in the supply of solar energy to new market segments, including in Ukraine and beyond our borders.

History

The GEN-I Group began its successful operations in supplying electricity to households and small commercial consumers in Slovenia over 15 years ago.

In 2005, the GEN-I Group started supplying electricity to its first business clients, and in 2009, to its first residential customers. Since then, by focusing on consumer needs, developing innovative products, and primarily through our transparent and affordable offers, GEN-I has become the largest electricity supplier in Slovenia.

GEN-I KIEV LLC began its trading activities in Ukraine over 8 years ago. The GEN-I Group supplies electricity to all end-user segments: households, small businesses, industrial consumers, and public sector clients. Since 2021, we have sourced our energy exclusively from carbon-free sources.
