On June 7th in Kyiv, the VI Charity Football Tournament Energy Cup – Spring 2025 will take place – an event that traditionally brings together teams from Ukrainian energy companies for active leisure, informal communication, partnership building, and most importantly – fundraising to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
Ten teams have registered for the tournament, including Vector VS.
Since 2003, Vector VS has been supplying electrotechnical products from leading European brands to the Ukrainian market and is joining the Energy Cup charity football tournament for the first time.
Dmytro Baranov, a lawyer at Vector VS, shared his plans and expectations for the competition in an interview with Energy Club, spoke about how sports events affect team morale, and how the company helps Ukrainian defenders.
– We are extremely pleased to be part of this important event that combines sports and charity. For our company, this is a special honor and an opportunity not only to show our team’s sporting spirit but also to contribute to a noble cause – supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine, – Dmytro Baranov emphasized. – We are sincerely grateful to the organizers – Energy Club – for such an initiative and are preparing for the competition with great motivation and inspiration.
– Why did the company decide to support this tournament?
– Firstly, the competition has a noble goal — supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine during an extremely difficult time for the country. We are convinced that every contribution brings our common Victory closer, saves the lives of Ukrainian defenders and civilians, and strengthens the independence of our state.
Secondly, such events create a platform for networking, informal communication, experience sharing, and building partnerships among key players in the Ukrainian energy market.
Thirdly, this tournament is a great opportunity for our team to unite, strengthen team spirit, and develop corporate culture. It’s a celebration of sport that gives participants bright emotions, energy, and drive. It’s also pleasant that colleagues who are not directly participating in the game enthusiastically support our team, creating a true atmosphere of unity and inspiration, which also contributes to strengthening internal corporate ties.
And fourthly, it’s an excellent opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle and show that sport can be an effective team-building tool.
Furthermore, participation in such an event is a manifestation of our social responsibility and our desire to be useful where we can help. Each of our employees understands the importance of unity and mutual support in these difficult times. We are also inspired by the opportunity to be part of a large energy community, to compete, to prove ourselves, and to represent our company worthily.
– How does the player selection or team formation process work? Are there specific criteria, or is it mainly on a voluntary basis?
– Team formation is exclusively on a voluntary basis. In our company, we sincerely value sports, team building, and events that fill corporate life with positive emotions.
Many employees responded with great enthusiasm to our company leadership’s proposal to organize a football game for the team. Most of these people regularly attend training sessions and corporate football matches held weekly, demonstrating true dedication and love for the sport. We encourage initiative and welcome every new participant.
– How does participation in sports competitions affect the team spirit, morale, and overall cohesion of the Vector VS team?
– Such events have a very positive impact on the moral climate within the team. It’s an opportunity for employees from different departments to unite around a common goal, feel the support of colleagues, and feel like part of a large, friendly family.
Joint training, preparation, victories, and challenges – all of this unites the team and strengthens internal trust, understanding, and mutual respect. This is valuable experience that we also transfer to our work processes.
– So, you see a positive effect in the work environment after such events?
– Undoubtedly. Regarding the Energy Cup – Spring 2025 tournament, although this is our first participation in a competition of this scale, our experience with weekly football training has already shown a significant positive impact on the work environment. Employees have become more open in communication, and new topics for conversation and discussion have emerged. Sport helps relieve stress, improves physical fitness, and promotes healthy habits. Such sports events energize the team, improve communication, and contribute to the development of leadership qualities and responsibility. All this positively affects the work environment at Vector VS.
– The Energy Cup tournament is a charity event. How important is this particular aspect for the company? Is it an additional motivating factor? In what other ways does Vector VS help the AFU or conduct charitable activities?
– The charitable nature of the tournament is a key motivating factor for us. Vector VS has been actively helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale invasion.
We regularly provide the military with equipment and all necessary supplies. Our team sincerely believes in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and that business must be socially responsible, especially in times of war.
Charity is not a one-time event for us – it is systematic and ongoing work that reflects our values and business principles.
Therefore, participating in the tournament is another way to support our defenders and contribute to our common cause – Victory.
– The tournament is organized by Energy Club, bringing together various companies from the energy sector. In your opinion, how do such events promote cooperation and informal communication between representatives of different enterprises in the sector?
– They indeed play an exceptionally important role in the development of Ukraine’s energy industry. The informal atmosphere of sports competitions creates a unique opportunity for representatives of different companies to get to know each other personally, exchange experiences and ideas outside the official framework of business negotiations.
During such events, ideas are born that can later become the basis for innovative solutions or joint projects. Sport breaks down barriers and stereotypes.
– What are your expectations for the football tournament? Perhaps there are specific goals – sporting or organizational?
– Our team is determined: we aim to play a worthy game, demonstrate cohesion, endurance, character, and, of course, win!
Among the organizational goals are the popularization of corporate sports, strengthening the company’s internal culture, and expanding communication horizons with other participants in the energy sector.
– And finally: perhaps you have some special wishes for the participating teams or the tournament organizers – Energy Club?
– We sincerely thank Energy Club for organizing such an important event. You unite not just companies, but people with big hearts. We wish all participants fair play, bright emotions, team drive, and new useful acquaintances.
May every match be a true celebration of football, where friendship, mutual respect, and team spirit prevail.
A special wish – may this tournament become another step towards our common Victory, and may the funds raised through the event help our hero-defenders feel our support and care. Together we are strong, together we are invincible! Good luck to all participants and organizers! Glory to Ukraine!
Energy Cup is a story of unity and support. Launched in 2022, the tournament has become a good tradition, demonstrating the high level of corporate social responsibility of Ukraine’s energy business.
