On June 7, 2025, a charity football tournament among teams of leading energy companies in Ukraine will take place in Kyiv. For the sixth time, ENERGY CUP unites professionals of the energy sector for a noble cause and strengthening of partnership relations. The main goal of the tournament is to collect aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as personal acquaintance, informal communication between representatives of energy companies, and unification for further cooperation and interaction.
One of the largest energy companies in Ukraine — PJSC “Centrenergo” — is a regular participant in all ENERGY CUP football tournaments.
“Energy Club always organizes and conducts tournaments at the highest level, participation in them is a pleasure,” says Anatolii Trokhymenko, a representative of the state energy generating company PJSC “Centrenergo”. “It’s both communication with representatives of enterprises in the energy sector and relaxation for company employees, but most importantly – effective support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. ‘Centrenergo’ constantly actively helps our defenders, we always respond to requests and appeals from Ukrainian soldiers.”
There are no professional players in the tournament teams. They consist of employees of energy enterprises: from managers to workers. The teams are supported by fans who also come to the competitions.
“Our team includes a patrol machinist, an electrician, a driver, a legal counsel – all who love football, can and want to play,” continues Anatolii Trokhymenko. “The core lineup remains unchanged for years, with possible minor rotations of 2-3 people. Participation in the tournament is prestigious for energy companies. It’s a top event. Football from energy workers is bold, spectacular, and charitable. In general, the ENERGY CUP tournament is a unique event that we don’t miss. In previous competitions, the ‘Centrenergo’ team took second and third places, our goalkeeper was recognized as the best, but this time we expect bright emotions and victory from the tournament! We lack first place, so participation for victory is important. We wish the tournament participants to enjoy the game and worthily support the Armed Forces of Ukraine to bring Ukraine’s victory closer.”
Annual charity football tournaments ENERGY CUP have become traditional and favorite events among Ukrainian energy workers. 12-14 teams participate in them. The energy community demonstrates unity, strength of spirit, and concern for the fate of our country.
For example, at last year’s autumn tournament, won by the VP “Khmelnytska NPP” team, funds were raised to purchase 19 FPV drones for our defenders. The equipment was transferred to the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade, 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, K2 (battalion of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade), and the 10th Army Corps.
