Module: 1. Fundamentals of Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency

Lecture: 1: Introduction to Energy Systems

• Lecturer: Dmytro Olefir, expert in energy systems management and electricity market functioning

Lecture content:

• The concept of an energy system;
• Components of an energy system;
• Principles of organization and functioning of an electric power system as a component of an energy system;
• Preliminaries of the association of national electric power systems and energy associations;
• Prospects for the development of electric power systems.

The program is aimed at training specialists for the field energy and energy efficiency. The training is supported by the project “Promoting Energy Efficiency and Implementation of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive in Ukraine”, implemented by GIZ Ukraine on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-financed by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
