Energy security, investments in extraction, and level playing field for the market
Can Ukraine afford to export part of its domestically produced gas right now, on the eve of the heating season? This decision could open new markets and funding sources for investment for gas extraction companies. At the same time, it should not jeopardize the supply of Ukrainian consumers and the operation of the energy system during winter.
Energy Club invites representatives of state and private gas extraction companies, traders, government authorities, and experts to discuss whether there are grounds to change the current ban right now. The purpose of the meeting is to compare data on Ukraine’s reserves, production, and needs, assess the economic consequences of various decisions, and determine which rules would be transparent and equal for all market participants.
